I have been coming to Japanese Auto repair for close to two years. I recently stopped taking my Honda and Acura to the dealer for maintenance, and switched to Japanese Auto repair. These guys are fantastic, easy to work with, knowledgeable, and appropriately priced. I have come here for routine maintenance, and for new brakes on my Honda. I have come away very satisfied with their work. They give you pricing upfront, so there are no surprises, and the pricing is great. I have no plans to return to the dealership, these are my guys. I cannot recommend them enough for your car needs.

We’ve used JAR a few times before and have always had good experiences, which is why this visit was so disappointing. We had a maintenance issue come up unexpectedly, so we dropped our car off overnight and completed the paperwork provided in the overnight drop box. The next morning, my husband called to make sure they had received everything. He was told they hadn’t gone through the overnight drop-offs yet and that someone would call us back. To our surprise, the callback wasn’t to discuss the issue or provide an estimate—it was to let us know the repairs had already been completed and the car was ready for pickup. Thankfully, the price ended up being reasonable, but that’s not the point. We were never contacted to authorize the cost before the repairs were performed. What if the repair had been much more expensive? Customers should have the opportunity to approve costs before it’s completed, especially with an overnight drop-off. This was a disappointing customer service experience and has made us reconsider using JAR in the future. If you’re planning to use their overnight drop box, be aware that they may begin repairs without first confirming the details or obtaining your approval. Hopefully, this is something they improve going forward.

This is the third time I’ve gotten work done on my car at JAR and each time has been great. This time I got my AC repaired and it’s working like a dream! Communication is always top notch and they give information in a non condescending way since I don’t know a lot about cars which is always appreciated. My repair was completed quickly and I am so happy to have the AC fixed before the Georgia heat sets in!

Everyone was friendly and professional. I had an issue where the seat trim had separated and my dealership wouldn't even give a "ballpark estimate" (just for an idea) without a min $240 diagnostic fee. The guys at JAR took it back, gave me no hassles, shook their heads at the dealer, gave me a price and stuck to it. Parts (OEM!) were delayed, but that's unavoidable sometimes, and they kept me in the loop all the way through. The work was done efficiently, along with a little extra we discussed, and it was a beautiful thing to see it the way things were supposed to be once again Would definitely check them out again if the need arises!
