Japanese Car Service is a car repair and maintenance service located at 5350 Spring Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89146, serving drivers in Las Vegas, Nevada. For people looking for an auto shop in the Spring Mountain Road area, customer feedback describes a clean, welcoming workshop and mechanics who take care with their work. The business has a 4.6-star rating from 238 reviews. Customers mention work on Toyota and Subaru vehicles, including an engine reseal and a fuel pump replacement, making the shop relevant to drivers seeking help with both maintenance and more involved repairs.

Several reviewers speak highly of the mechanics and the quality of the service. One customer says the work gave them confidence in keeping their Toyota, while another describes a Subaru boxer-engine reseal and fuel pump replacement and praises the owner’s follow-through. That reviewer says the owner checked that the vehicle was functioning and offered a follow-up check. Other feedback appreciates prompt service after an appointment, with a vehicle ready sooner than the customer had been told. These experiences suggest Japanese Car Service may suit drivers who value attentive repair work and updates about their vehicle.

The reviews also show why clear communication matters when choosing a repair shop. While many customers describe the mechanics as capable and honest, some feedback raises concerns about front-desk communication and a disputed diagnostic estimate. In one account, a customer felt the proposed diagnosis and cost did not match what they later found to be a disconnected connector; the business owner offered a different account in a reply. Because repair needs and experiences can vary, customers may want to ask what testing is planned, request an estimate before authorizing work, and clarify how they will be updated if the diagnosis changes.

Japanese Car Service is an option for Las Vegas drivers seeking car repair and maintenance, including owners of Toyota and Subaru vehicles mentioned in customer reviews. It may be a fit for people who appreciate a tidy shop, appointment-based service, and mechanics described by some customers as thorough and dependable. Before visiting, contact the shop to confirm current hours, appointment availability, and whether it handles your particular vehicle or repair. Sharing your symptoms and asking for an explanation of the recommended work can help set expectations. Located on Spring Mountain Road, the business offers local drivers a place to discuss maintenance and repair needs with its team.

Dishonor on you, dishonor on your family, dishonor on your cow, dishonor from Shogun. I always thought Japanese are the most trustworthy and honorable people, so I had zero bad expectations about this service. Also, as they say it is a family-owned business, So I had an amazing feeling. Japanese family-owned service, WOW amazing. Specializing in Toyota cars. I had a weird sound on my Lexus. I was prepared and had some videos showing this weird sound: metal-to-metal, metallic crunchy sound. I was told that it would take a while to diagnose my car. Roughly 3–4 hours. Yes, it took 4 hours with an appointment to diagnose my car. I told the host that I wanted to speak with the mechanic about it and show him the video to diagnose the sound more correctly. The first time she ignored that, so when I saw my car was taken, I reminded her again. The mechanic came to me, I showed him the videos, explained the symptoms, when it happens, how often, that it comes from the front passenger side under the hood, and that I assumed it was the water pump because the sound was similar, but I was not sure. He thanked me and said it was helpful. Then I waited 1 hour and they called me to tell me that I need to replace the catalytic converter for $4000. No explanation, no showing what the problem is or how they found that. The attitude was: we are ready whenever you are ready, just pay us. Diagnostic, by the way, was $121. So I guess that diagnostic was made just by putting their finger in their nose and giving me the biggest price. By the way, the catalytic converter is fresh and shiny. We checked it with another service the same day. No evidence of malfunction of the catalytic converter, and the sound is actually because of a dying water pump. So yeah, I paid this $121 for WOW service. This money will cost you A LOT… Good luck with spending time with DMV, City Business Licensing, Nevada Attorney General, with a lot of paperwork that they are going to bring to your fantastic service. I hope your family will enjoy reading letters and answering them. I hope the city will take a look at you and how well you treat your customers.

** The owner replied saying I refused to pay and they told me to leave. That’s not what happened. They were trying to charge me $400+ for what turned out to be a simple unplugged connector. The owner himself told me it might need a full wiring harness and wanted to spend the whole day diagnosing it. I didn’t have that kind of money, so I asked to take the van back and look at it myself. I found the issue in minutes, a second plug under the seat that wasn’t fully connected. After I fixed it and the airbag light went off, I asked them to clear the VSC and TRAC lights that appeared only after they started (and didn’t finish) a calibration. Those lights were not on when I brought the van in. When I came back about those lights, the owner put his finger in my face, yelled at me, and told me not to come back. They fixed the lights they caused for free because they caused them not because I refused to pay for legitimate work. Original story: I brought my 2005 Sienna in for a passenger airbag light. I told them I had unplugged the seat. Instead of checking the connectors first, they jumped straight into a calibration. After a long wait they said they couldn’t finish because something else was wrong under the seat and wanted another $188 just to take the seat out and diagnose. I took the van back, found a second plug that wasn’t fully connected, plugged it in, and the airbag light went off. No calibration needed. While they were hooked up they started a calibration they didn’t finish, which turned on the VSC and TRAC lights that were not on when I arrived. I called to have those cleared since they created them. The owner interrupted me, yelled, put his hands in my face, and told me not to come back after it was fixed. Either they missed a simple unplugged connector or they were trying to sell a $188 diagnosis for a plug. Terrible communication and worse attitude. I fixed the original problem myself in minutes after they spent hours and still wanted more money.

The car service is great. Love the mechanics and they do a wonderful job. They are honest and do stellar work. In fact, I would never get rid of my Toyota because I love my Mechanic. Some problems with the front desk snd they definitely need more training on how to do their jobs. Spoke with the owner‘s wife and she is on the ball to do just that.

Gener and Nicole are great owners/shop managers. Had to get a full engine reseal for my subaru boxer engine and a new fuel pump. Gener personally made sure my car was fully taken care of and everything was functioning. Even offered a free check up after some time to ensure a job well done. Great shop, honest, reasonably priced and treats your car as if it were their own.
