Sign in to reviewI really wanted to love this shop. As someone who loves supporting local businesses, I appreciate having a boutique like Jowa in Bishop Arts. The store itself is beautiful, thoughtfully curated, and the staff are genuinely lovely, attentive, and welcoming. The clothing is beautiful - really lovely tailoring and a mix of classic pieces with trendy details. I wish I could wear it. However, I was disappointed by the lack of transparency around sizing. The shop promotes carrying Korean brands, but doesn’t make it clear that many of the women’s pieces only go up to a size medium - majority of items I wanted to try on were one size: s/m. I was told, “We have more sizes in back,” only to find out that the largest available size was still a medium. For context, I typically wear a size 6, sometimes an 8, and I couldn’t fit comfortably into many of the items. Whether that’s because of the cut, proportions, or my height, it was honestly an embarrassing shopping experience. I was told that the medium works because of elastic waistbands, but elastic only stretches so far. I understand that sizing can vary by brand, especially with imported clothing. I do think there is likely a need in the market for petit or smaller size-focused stores - I'm not critiquing the concept, but I think the store would better serve customers by being more upfront about the size range they carry. They need to say, up-front, that the size range is extremely limited. It would help set expectations and save shoppers from the disappointment of finding something they love only to discover there isn’t a size that works for them. I genuinely hope they expand their size offerings or at least communicate them more clearly, because the store, products, and staff are otherwise wonderful.
Absolutely loved my visit to Jowa in Dallas. The selection and quality of the clothes are top-notch, and everything was so easy to imagine styling with pieces I already own. The accessories were beautiful too — thoughtfully chosen and super reasonably priced. My favorite part of the experience was chatting and casually shopping with Eunhwa. She has such a natural eye and would recommend pieces based on what she noticed I gravitated toward. She’s an angel — talented, intuitive, and never pushy. It honestly felt like shopping with a friend rather than feeling stared at or pressured. The whole space was clean, calm, and so well kept, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to envision a fit. Can’t wait to go back. ⋆ ⋆⋆⋆ʚɞ
I’m happy to be one of the first people to review this amazing shop. I walked past on my way for a meeting and decided to stop in before I left the area. I was warmly greeted by Kate, the owner who walked me through some of the key pieces and let me know more about the brand. The aesthetic of the shop, warm environment and quality of the clothing had me sold within the first five minutes. I’m excited to style the pieces I purchased and can’t wait for the next visit. They have quality basics with a twist - exactly what the Dallas fashion scene needs!
What an amazing store full of such cool Korean clothes. I could've bought everything in there
I was pleasantly surprised to find this new addition to the neighborhood. There were so many things I wanted to try on but I wasn't in the mood to take clothes on and off. But thankfully, the fashion gods had other things in mind for me, an incredibly unique jacket! I walked out of the store with it on. Can't wait to see this store succeed, this is exactly the kind of shop we needed!!!!!
