About

Just Relax Spa is a massage spa at 717 Walnut St in Philadelphia, PA, offering a place to make time for hands-on bodywork and personal care. Customer feedback describes a peaceful, clean environment and staff who are often welcoming and polite. The spa has a 4.3-star rating from 136 reviews, reflecting a range of experiences rather than a single universal response. For people comparing massage options in Philadelphia, those details can help set expectations before booking.
Reviews describe massage sessions that may use firmer pressure, with some customers characterizing the approach as closer to deep-tissue work than a light, purely relaxing massage. Several guests say the pressure helped address knots or left their muscles feeling relieved. Others have appreciated being able to ask for gentler pressure, particularly when dealing with back, neck, shoulder, or other injury concerns. As with any massage, comfort and preference differ from person to person; it is sensible to communicate your needs and preferred pressure clearly with your therapist.
One mentioned package combines a 45-minute massage with a 45-minute facial, while another review describes a gifted 50-minute massage session. These customer accounts offer examples of services guests have experienced, but availability and current package details should be confirmed with the spa. Visitors looking for a massage and facial in one appointment may find the reported 90-minute combination especially relevant. People focused on muscular tension may also want to discuss whether a firmer treatment is appropriate for them before the session begins.
The atmosphere and service receive positive comments from some regulars and first-time visitors, including praise for a calm setting, polite staff, and easy reservations. At the same time, reviews are mixed: some customers report a very satisfying treatment and plan to return, while others describe concerns about technique, oil use, or billing. That contrast is worth keeping in mind when choosing a massage spa. If you have a specific goal, sensitivity, or injury, consider sharing it in advance and confirming the session details and charges before treatment.
Just Relax Spa is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., according to its listed hours, at 717 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19106. Its Center City address may be convenient for people already in Philadelphia who want to arrange a massage during the day or evening. Whether you are considering a firmer, deep-tissue-style session, a shorter massage, or a massage-and-facial package, use your consultation to explain what feels comfortable and what you hope to get from the visit. Clear communication can help you decide whether the spa’s approach matches your expectations.

I was gifted a 90 minute package (45min massage and 45min facial). Reservations were easy, staff very polite. I was worried about some of the reviews mentioning too much pressure, but she did a phenomenal job. The pressure was intense at times, but never painful. She was just working out knots I didn't know I had. The facial was very relaxing and to my surprise did not upset my skin. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and was completely fine with the many products she used. The atmosphere was relaxing and dim. I would definitely go back as well as recommend this place to others.
Vivi was great. Yes it is a bit harder then when you get massage somewhere else, I think their approach is more a deep tissue rather then just relaxing. But I loved it. They were nice and welcoming and I’m planning to come back
I’m a regular customer here and 100% recommend! Not only is the environment peaceful & clean, the masseuses are very talented. I have several chronic pain issues, and I always feel muscular relief leaving. At the risk of sounding cheesy, frequent visits have improved my quality of life because of the pain relief. I can’t say enough good things about this hidden gem of a spa!
Worst massage of my life!! Truly, I don’t think this woman ever gave a massage before. There was zero technique. So sloppy, so much oil. I had to towel MYSELF off. And then she charged me incorrectly. Please avoid at all costs :(
My daughter gifted me a full 50-minute massage session for Mother's Day. I was very leery, because I have injuries to my back, neck, and shoulders from an accident. There was a language barrier with the masseuse but I was able to communicate with her to be gentle. Although this was only a therapeutic massage, the masseuse apparently did a wonderful job of breaking up fibrous tissue (per my doctor) in my back! Yes, I suggest that you have your physician sign off on it if you're having any issues! My mobility has improved and I went back a second time with the intent of having yet a third session. The place is quiet, inviting, clean, and very conducive to relaxation. It's well worth the hour drive it takes for me.
