I highly highly highly recommend hairstylist Hancia! 🤗 She is one of my favorite hairstylists for natural hair care because she genuinely cares about the health of your hair. She takes her time, is extremely knowledgeable about hair care, and knows exactly which products work best for different hair types. When I first came to her, I was dealing with what was almost a severe case of traction alopecia caused by stress and not properly caring for my hair. From day one, she was kind, welcoming, encouraging, and made me feel confident that my hair could recover. At every appointment, she educated me on how to properly care for my hair at home and recommended the right products for my specific needs. I faithfully followed her instructions each week while also making a few health-related changes on my end, including prayer and meditating on God’s Word in the name of Jesus Christ. The results were incredible—my edges grew back in less than two months! Not only is she an amazing stylist, but she is also one of the sweetest, most caring people you’ll meet. Every appointment is enjoyable because she’s so easy to talk to and truly wants the best for her clients. My hair absolutely loves her, and I couldn’t be happier with the progress I’ve made. I arrived at the salon about 15–20 minutes before my scheduled 11 AM appointment. Keep in mind that I had to take an Uber because I am currently dealing with car issues. When I arrived, I knocked on the door multiple times and called the number listed on the front about 6–7 times. Even went on the site to use the “text us” feature to get in contact with someone. I received no response and ended up standing outside until 11:03 AM before someone eventually arrived. When I initially booked online, I selected Georgia because she was recommended for doing locs. Before booking, I also confirmed that the salon offered loc repair services, and I was told that they did. However, the day before my appointment I noticed that my stylist had been changed to someone else. I was never notified of this change. I only discovered it because I was double-checking my appointment details to confirm the address and saw that my stylist had been switched to Ann-Marie. My stylist did explain why she was running a bit late, so I gave grace in that situation. During the appointment, I will say that Ann-Marie was very gentle with my hair and was a great conversationalist. However, several aspects of the service did not meet my expectations, especially considering this was my first professional retwist. First, the retwist technique did not seem professional. I have maintained my own locs for years and have also watched professional locticians work, and this method did not resemble what I would expect from a professional service. There was no palm rolling involved, no locsmithing, nothing that would secure the new growth into the shaft of the loc. The roots were just twisted with a comb, and the rest of the loc was essentially just wrapped around the loc shaft, rather than properly retwisted. Secondly, the main reason I booked the appointment was for loc repair. When I brought this up, she said she would ask Georgia about it but never followed up. Instead, she mentioned possibly using human hair or coarse braiding hair to repair the loc on the perimeter of my head. She also stated that there wasn’t enough hair there to perform the repair the way I was asking. However, I have seen professional locticians perform this exact type of repair with even less hair. My loc actually has a good amount of new growth, the issue is that the hair has been pulling out of the loc over time, which has made it thin and more prone to breakage. Because of that, I was confused by the explanation. I have seen countless professional locticians use crochet needles to repair locs in situations just like mine, which is the service I originally came in hoping to receive. Lastly, it has only been three days since my appointment and my hair is already unraveling. For context, I only use satin bonnets, wraps, and scrunchies. I rarely manipulate my hair after a fresh retwist, and my hair is always tied up before bed and for most of the day. Even when I have done my own retwists in the past, I have never had my hair unravel or lose its freshness within three days. Overall, for my first professional retwist at a salon I expected would cater to my needs, this experience was disappointing. Especially considering the fact that I paid $113 for the service when I could have achieved similar results myself for less than $20.

I needed a big chop. This salon was open on a Saturday, the quality of work was impeccable I was able to book my appointment online effortlessly with Georgia, she was awesome she gave me a great cut and color she is my new hairstylist I would recommend her to anyone.
