When I came in right at 3:25pm, the receptionist with the middle age dish Caucasian brown bob woman, told me that they stop taking people at 3:30pm. I said no worries, I’d come back the next day. The next day I came back. When I came in, and went back to the brown bob woman, she ducked behind her computer. I went over to an older Asian woman with her hair pulled with black glasses, and she literally moved her monitor. There was older Black woman there with finger waves, and she was helping someone. I said I smiled and nodded at both the initial receptionists and they continued to ignore me even after I greeted them and then walked over to get a ticket for labs. The kicker is when a Caucasian woman and her daughter walked in, everyone said hello gleefully, and everyone asked how they can help. I said wow, you why’d they ignore me. I was about to leave when the Asian woman asked what am I doing. She called me someone else’s name and asked about my appointment. I told her I was there for labs but she said she needed my id to verify why I was there. No how are you sorry, nothing. And the Black woman stood frowning at me with her arms crossed. I’ve interacted with this woman before and she has always been hostile, rude, and demeaning to Black patients. That’s very disheartening. The lab woman was quick and to the point, but lied when I asked for the clinic manager’s contact information. She said her name was Bridget and she took a good 5 minutes to look up her information… she gave me Urology’s number… Per usual, UW Valley is biased…

I have met a lot of terrible doctors visiting clinics and hospitals in Washington state until I met Dr R Kopicki in the Valley medical primary Care at kent station. She is so good at what she does. She takes time and listen to your issues …

While this clinic’s staff is very friendly, the policies in place make zero sense and are completely unethical. They are booked out 6-9 months for appointments and will not refill medications without being seen. In turn, you are expected to go without vital medicine until they can see you? I’ve never heard of this in 8 years in the medical field myself. Save yourself the headache and find somewhere else that actually cares enough about their patients to implement a work around in these scenarios.
