Avoid this nightmare of a shop at aaaàall costs!! TAKE IT FROM ME, I LEARNED THE HARD WAY. Perhaps this alone would not be a huge issue, but it's only the tip of the iceberg. This shop had my car for weeks (which is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaàaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long for the initial repair my vehicle needed). Yes, you read that right, the plural form of week. As in more weeks than one. For WEEKS they had my vehicle, but oddly enough, dispite having so much time to repair my vehicle properly, thats not what they did. Instead, they broke other things in the process of their whacky attempt to repair my vehicle, and they also cost me unnecessary money. Rude. This shop assumed that i wanted an aftermarket oil cooler vs. a genuine oil cooler, and so once the aftermarket cooler was installed, the oil sensor didn't work. I then had to pay for a genuine sensor as well as the labor to install it. I never authorized the use of any aftermarket oil cooler. Had i been included in the decision-making on that part, i would have definitely chosen to have a genuine oil cooler installed. After the aftermarket oil cooler was installed, my car started giving diagnostic trouble codes for the oil pump being stuck in low (dual stage oil pump) as well as evap codes. Something he should have investigated and provided a diagnosis for seeing as to how he caused it. Instead he charged me diagnostic fees for problems that he never gave me a diagnosis for. This shop also gave me a laundry list of components that "need repaired/replaced," such as the power control module, the filler neck in my gas tank (wants to charge $1200 for this repair alone), and the actual gas tank itself. Nobody calls you to update you on the status of your vehicle, and if you call them, you'll be told that they will call you back, and then they never call. To top this whole fiasco off, they parked my vehicle ON THE STREET! How do i know this? My husband and i live near this shop, and we drive past it when we enter/exit CA 67 going to and from our house daily. One friday night, about 10pm, my husband and i come home after a night out, and as we drive past this shop to get to our house, right there, out on the street, infront of the shop, is my vehicle. Right there for any passer by to vandalize, break in to it, or hit with their car. That was the last straw, I'd had enough of this clown and his circus. So I picked up my vehicle the next morning and took it a mile down the road over to Lifestyle garage. If you want honest and competent technicians that provide superb customer service, go to Lifestyle garage! The techs at Lifestyle discovered all shoddy work done by this shop. And guess what else?- None of the components this shop said needed r&r needed r&r. Not even one. I was told by my new mechanic that when this shop replaced my oil cooler, he disconnected my evap hoses and they were found smashed and folded up under my intake manifold ( explains the evap codes) and they also broke a pigtail off of my knock sensor and said absolutely nothing about it to me. They also didn't put the under carriage cover back on properly. Most definitely a negitive experience from every angle. I called the automotive bar, they dud their investigation and spoke with my new repair shop that fixed everythibg this guy messed up, the bar told this guy he should refund the diagnostic fees for the problems that he caused, and he refused. So inaddition to being completley incompentent and careless with your property, he'll rip you off for your hard earned money. This shop absolutely sucks at what they do, and if I could give this place a negative 1,000 stars, I absolutely would without a moments hesitation. Moral of the story here is: DO NOT. DO NOT. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT, BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. Its my hope this review will save a lot of people a lot of unnecessary b.s. as well as some money.

I had my 1.8 toyota hybrid engine replaced here which is an extremely sophisticated job. My engine runs like if it is new. No weird noises and reasonable pricing. I would totally come back for more maintenance.

WARNING!!!! Save yourself time, money, stress and headache. The owner is highly unprofessional, rude, dishonest and doesn’t know what he’s doing even though he claims otherwise. Take your business elsewhere. He just slapped the truck together, refuses to fix his mechanical mistakes, refused to compromise, yelled and cursed at me. Now a more honest and experienced mechanic will have to fix it which will cost even more money. I would give Lakeside Auto ZERO stars if I could.

Ramon is awesome. Whenever I call last minute to see if he can look at something in my car he never hesitates to tell me to bring it in. I am happy with all the work they have done to my car. I know my car is being cared for and I trust them. I recommend them to a lot of people. Ramon does a lot for Lakeside and he is a great asset to our town. Their prices are more than fair.
