Sign in to reviewSmall space, but vibe is good. Andante coffee comes with sweet cream top. It’s a bit sweet, but not too much. Ube latte is made with purple sweet potato extract. It was very sweet, so I added an extra shot. French toast was served on well-toasted brioche. Berries were sweet and fresh. Organic maple syrup provided. I couldn’t really tell difference between organic and regular, but flavor was fine. There is usually wait on weekends, and indoor space is quite small. There are few tables in back. Drinks come out relatively quickly, but food takes bit longer.
Laveta is one of my go-to coffee shops and has been for a number of years now. I love the minimalist and quiet feel to it. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I recently tried the Adante latte and it’s been my favorite, that and the horchata. Food wise I usually get the ube waffle or the breakfast sandwich that comes in either sourdough or croissant. Highly recommend!
Some of the best breakfast I’ve had in LA. Very casual and chill. Cold brew and Ube latte are my recommendations for beverage. Breakfast sandwich is so good on either croissant or sourdough. It’s like Big Mac sauce on an egg sandwich. The chips are crispy and unique I almost wouldn’t say they are potato chips but a great side to the sandwich. Many influencers taking photos inside since it has a cool interior.
Their french toast was very buttery and delicious. The matcha misto was good- the matcha base itself is unsweetened but the cream top was sweet. I didn't get much depth in flavor from either and felt that the sweetness of the cream top was closer to the splenda/regular sugar side, and didn't get much cream scent.
If the city of LA were a restaurant or cafe, it would be this: the earthen and industrial aesthetic, people clad in athleisure and designer clothes, overpriced but yummy. The chicken sandwich was a little saucy, but the slaw was a unique, bright touch and a good contrast to the crunchy, juicy chicken. The andante was an overall unmemorable but otherwise enjoyable sweet coffee. I got it less sweet, and for someone who doesn’t like sweet things, it ensured with the cream I didn’t think it was too sweet. The seating area outside is clean and spacious but inside was a little overstimulating. I wouldn’t necessary work here even with the free WiFi, but it’s a great place to catch up with friends. Their parking lot is super unoptimized, though. The wait, on the other hand, was completely fine! I was initially concerned about that but they’re quite efficient.
