I paid for legal services but have received nothing in return. My attorney hasn’t responded to my emails or messages in over two months, and now I can’t even reach anyone by phone — no one answers. This level of unresponsiveness is completely unacceptable, especially considering I’ve already paid for their services.

I am appalled at the way I was treated this morning by Peter one of the attorneys at this law office. I called to ask questions regarding my divorce and what to expect. When explaining to the attorney my experience and sharing the research I had found he responded that they are not in the business of talking to people and hung up. Mind you this was about a two minute conversation. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would highly suggest anyone considering this firm to think twice. If I am going to hire a lawyer I want them to listen and understand my experience. Otherwise I could not feel comfortable trusting them with my case.

In the midst of the pandemic, I had a legal matter that I definitely needed help with so I utilized my job’s group legal service, ARAG and contacted the Law Office of Margaret Reyes. After my first contact, I was pleased. Ms. Reyes eased my mind; she asked me several questions and then allowed me to ask questions so I could get a better understanding of what the process would be. Very professional. Covid in itself is stressful enough but when you're going through a divorce, it just gives you peace of mind knowing you have someone with knowledge and experience on your side. I was emailed copies of paperwork and kept in the loop about court filings. I had a few questions along the way that Elizabeth, Ms. Reyes’ right hand, was able to answer when Ms. Reyes was not available. They made the process so much easier. I’m a stickler for professionalism and overall good customer service and I found that here. Thank You, Ms. Reyes for your help, it’s truly appreciated.

With that said, in short and sweet words, this law firm is a gamble, you may or you may not get lucky with E F F E C T I V E legal service. Thus far, they've been collecting my money and doing little as possible and have been lying as a tactic to delay my case to do nothing. Again the in-depth review on Yelp will explain a lot and answer some questions you may have reading this review. It was a bad start and I thought it was going well for a bit when Peter was no longer my attorney and Mrs. Reyes took over my case, until they started to BS me with unnecessary charges, for instance, they said I'll have to go in person today ( 8/6/2020) for court hearing at 8:30am or I can pay for their office to speak on the phone to the court....which I don't understand why the court or they would charge me to be on the phone to discuss my case with COVID....I mean courts are closed...you see where this doesn't make sense and starts to become fishy? I don't know if they took advantage of me because I'm going through a divorce and they think I'm too vulnerable to sniff out their BS or they believe I'm stupid. They told me they were going to serve the other party and lied, because I found out through court nothing was filed. Pick Margaret Reyes' Law firm if you want someone who is unprofessional, rude, lacks accountability and likes to turn around and blame YOU, the client for the firm's blunders. When I confronted the firm about their unethical business practice of lying and cheating me for money just to tell me some BS they dressed up pretty, thinking I can't smell the BS from miles away. They turned around and started blaming me for their lack of presence to represent and handle my cases in court, I was the reason why they couldn't attend my court case even when I inconvenienced myself just to work with their schedule. Also, they blamed me for their lack of effective counselling...Not sure where I stand on that ..So if you want to be generous and give away your money, this is the charity law firm you may want to donate towards...but it's not even for a good cause so, I don't encourage entertaining this kind of bad juju. Move on and you may get lucky elsewhere. I hope that $95 they jacked from me will help them in their desperate financially needs during COVID. Mrs. Reyes did me the best thing and biggest favor by telling me she wanted to part ways. Great, I'll be discussing the billing with my agency in regards to her lack of service and ineffective counseling while she's been collecting. I'll be fair and give her what she worked for, but if she thinks she's going to steal from me, that's not okay with me and I'll fight tooth and nail for every penny. If not, let's just say may the three-fold reach her and teach her a good life lesson of unethical business practices. Amen. Frankly, they were aware of my divorce situation and custody case, how difficult emotionally and financially it was on me, yet, they pull this shady move. They'll say what you want to hear and once you sign the papers, you start to really see the true colors mentioned above. I hope you don't have to go through what I am going through with Margaret Reyes Law Office. It's heartbreaking to know that people like myself are going through this kind of sensitive life event, yet at our most vulnerable, some people see as an opportunity to take advantage of the weak. Sad.
