Leisure Cafe is a Hong Kong style fast food restaurant at 1443 E 14th St Unit A in San Leandro, California. For diners looking for Hong Kong-inspired Chinese fusion and other Asian comfort foods in San Leandro, CA, the restaurant offers a broad menu rather than a narrowly focused one. Its East 14th Street location places it within the city's everyday dining landscape, and the selection makes it a practical option when different appetites need to be accommodated. It can be a sensible choice when a table wants several menu directions instead of committing to one type of entree.

Customer comments describe large portions and a notably broad spread of fried rice, noodles, porridge, soups, and baked dishes served with rice, pasta, or macaroni. Among the dishes customers have singled out favorably are Portuguese chicken rice, seafood soup, and baked beef spaghetti. This variety gives Leisure Cafe appeal for people who enjoy moving between familiar rice or noodle plates and cafe-style baked specialties. Reviews also characterize the menu as a mix of traditional and less traditional Asian cooking, leaving room to try something different on a later visit. Portions have been described as generous, so it can suit diners who arrive hungry or want enough food for a substantial meal.

Guests have also mentioned table QR codes for browsing and placing orders, a detail that may be helpful for diners who prefer a self-directed ordering process. Leisure Cafe is listed as open from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday and Sunday, with Friday and Saturday hours extending to 9:30 PM. Its published schedule covers lunch and dinner every day of the week, which gives nearby diners a straightforward option for a midday meal or an evening stop. Checking the current menu and availability when ordering is sensible, particularly if a specific baked dish or soup is the reason for your visit.

With a 3.7 rating from 185 reviews, the restaurant has earned feedback that is both appreciative and mixed. Diners often note tasty, relatively authentic flavors and its extensive Hong Kong-style selection, while other reports point to uneven results across dishes and service experiences. That range is useful context for anyone deciding where to eat in San Leandro: Leisure Cafe may fit diners seeking a casual, broad-menu meal and willing to choose from the items that have received the strongest customer mentions. It is especially worth considering for Portuguese chicken rice, fried rice or noodles, porridge, soups, and baked dishes, while remembering that individual experiences and dish preferences can differ.

In my opinion, great food ,LARGE portions (be careful because your orders might not fit the table). Tasty Chinese fusion, traditional and non traditional Asian cusine. They got fried rice/noodles , Porridge, soups , baked dishes with your choice of rice ,pasta, or macaroni. Each table has a QR code, you pick what you want, then they tally up the orders at the end. Very quick orders too.

The food is generally tasty and quite authentic. I really like their Portuguese Chicken Rice, and I've been getting them every time. But each time, I feel like it's getting more soggy. Other than that, I have no complaint, and this is a highly recommended restaurant! If you are in the area, you should definitely try their authentic bargain Hong Kong styled restaurant.

Hit or miss. Seafood soup & Baked beef spaghetti 🍝 is good. French toast nothing special. Fried squid tails, Mike tea/coffee, lemongrass chicken over rice can skip. Service is bad, I guess that’s the main reason this place has such rating. I ordered coffee+milk tea thru QR menu, there’s no hot or cold option, I put hot in special note, they gave me iced. I said to them I ordered hot, the staff said no, the system showed its iced, there’s no way to be wrong. We showed them the QR menu and asked her to look, there’s no option for hot or cold; but I did write down hot in note. She then took back the drink and didn’t even apologize. She was very rude.

Leisure Cafe is a Hong Kong style food. We ordered the beef ribs with rice and egg and the beef stew rice plate. The ribs and the beef ten tendons were chewy and not tender. We've eaten here in the past. When eating out, sometimes past experiences don't match up with recent ones. Last year, the beef stew was pretty good and tender.

Avoid this place! The ribs had blood underneath them, and it wasn't just undercooked; it was completely raw blood. they took it back and cooked it a second time, and it still had blood. The meat was cold, and the rice was undercooked.
