Luang Prabang Market

I just checked out this Lao and Thai restaurant/market and had an awesome experience. A really helpful guy got me seated right away and helped me get my order in. The food came out impressively fast. Everything we had was super delicious. I ended up getting the sticky rice, beef jerky, fried pork ribs, and jeow som. The ribs and jerky were cooked perfectly, and pairing them with the sticky rice and jeow som completely hit the spot. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you want great food without a long wait.

This place is a hidden gem. A hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant that would blow you away with the taste and quality of the food. Incredible home style Laos cooking that is just so comforting and delicious. Food is bold, spicy, and flavorful. A hardworking couple runs both the grocery store and restaurant. Customer service was wonderful. Place is humble, unassuming that delivers 10/10 food. We recommend getting the papaya salad, garlic pork ribs, green curry and any of the noodle dishes. They even sell Asian desserts- chè bánh lọt (coconut jelly). Nhà hàng Thái rất ngon. Đồ ăn rất đậm đà và vừa miệng. Bảo đảm người Việt Nam sẽ rất thích hương vị ở đây.

Oh my God this place is INCREDIBLE. The service is fast and the food is PHENOMENAL. The flavor tastes so rich in every dish. The prices are also very affordable for the quality food. The people are very nice and happily recommended their favorites dishes. This is our new favorite restaurant. We had the Thai papaya salad 12/10 The Khao Piak Sen 10/10 The red Thai curry 11/10 The beef jerky 10/10

This place was near our hotel, and we wanted some soup to end our day. The restaurant is located in a sketchy area by some apartments and inside a market-style setup. I ordered the chicken khao poon. While the flavor was good, I really wish they offered the vegetables on the side instead of mixing them into the bowl. I didn’t like the taste of the bean sprouts and purple cabbage. It would be much better served separately. Their sticky rice was also given in a syrofoam to-go container instead of the traditional Lao rice container (thip khao), which keeps the rice warmer and adds to the authentic dine-in experience. Coming from a health department background (although not in this city), I was very turned off seeing staff wearing sandals while taking orders and serving food. They should know this is not up to health code and could easily be reported. Customer service was non-existent. No one checked in on us, and we were short on napkins the entire time. The Thai iced tea was also way too sweet because of the heavy condensed milk. Overall, the food was decent, but the presentation, environment, and lack of basic health standards were disappointing.

Loved the laotian sausage and dessert. The pad that was better than the curry soup. We will have to return. Felt like I was in somebody's home enjoying a home cooked meal. Bought some curry puffs and another dessert to take home. They don't have free refills as most of their drinks are canned and they don't sell water nor diet options. Their Thai coffee and tea were refreshing.
