Sign in to reviewI’m so happy I found this place. My husband and I tried the pork belly adobo, tres silog, breakfast musubi, and Thai tea taho. The Pork Belly Adobo was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was still good, especially if you like your adobo on the sweeter side. The Tres Silog and Breakfast Musubi were awesome and definitely will get them again, especially for breakfast. The Thai Tea Taho was okay, but I wish they’d serve the original taho. I think a lot of Filipinos around here would love it. Also, it was very cool that they were playing IV of Spades on their TV. Plus points for that since I’m a fan. Will definitely come back.
Excellent experience! My mom and I went here a couple of days ago after finding out about this place through a friend. Since we’ve been eating Filipino cuisine all of our lives, we always have high standards and expectations whenever it comes to Filipino cuisine. My mom especially has the highest expectations and standards, since she cooks a lot. Since it was a fusion type of place, I had to explain to my mom the concept of the restaurant and cuisine, since she never had Filipino fusion food before l, just regular traditional Filipino cuisine. Nonetheless, we ordered the Lechon Kawali combo plate, lunpia nachos, Calamansi refresher, and since it was our first time here, the cook and I believe one of the managers, Rex, was very kind enough to give us a free sample of the chili-mansi chicken. Everything went above and beyond expectations, from its freshness, flavorful likings, and perfect mix of sweet and savory aromas and tastes! Besides the food, the interactions with the cashiers, Rex, and Luna were amazing! Everyone was very kind, friendly, helpful, and presented a great atmosphere to be at! They even gave us a couple of coupons for future visits! After going here the first time, my mom and I will for sure comeback and we highly recommend this amazing Filipino fusion restaurant to anyone! In fact, my mom and I already told our friends about this awesome and amazing place and we are going to take our family here! For those who had Filipino food in your lives, but want to try Filipino cuisine with a different taste and mix by mixing Filipino cultural cuisine with other ethnic cultures, this is your restaurant! Again thank you Luna’s Lunpias for the amazing experience and cuisine that left our mouths watering and satisfied!
I booked Luna’s Lunpias to cater for my son’s first birthday party. We had a very large order and Luna was very accommodating when I had to modify the quantity of food that was needed. She also opened shop early and had her staff come in to help prep the food for our morning event. Very grateful for that! The silog bowls were packed very nicely and we got a lot of compliments on the food. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends!
I’m so happy I had the time to join the San Diego Filipina meetup at this exciting restaurant just north of San Diego! They offer a wide variety of delicious Filipino food to try. I had the calamansi refresher and the sisig—both were so good! I also loved the macaroni salad, fresh veggies, and of course, the rice and sisig combo. The place felt like home, with a Filipino touch that brings back memories. Luna, the owner, is super friendly and knows how to create a space that celebrates Filipino culture, from the food to the decor. Even if you’re not Filipino, it’s definitely worth a visit! The staff are so welcoming and helpful, and I can’t wait to come back and try more of what they offer.
Love supporting local Filipino restaurants and eateries. Found this place hunting down Pinoy food spots in the SD area, kind of a hobby of mine. Been meaning to check it out and finally made it coming back from a quick trip to SD back home to the OC. Im originally from the Bay so I know good Filipino food. Loved this spot. Smaller than I thought and in a somewhat random strip mall but I would def come again when im in the SD area. It has a more modern feel and vibe that i tend to gravitate to these days because I like seeing Filipino cuisine spots evolving. First....staff and service were great. Owner/chef was a cool dude and greeted me, started to break down the specials and menu. Very friendly, communicative and you could tell he loved his product. Food was good. Combo of traditional pinoy food with fusion, modern Hawaiian/Filipino items. I got the panko fried musubi which was fire, and traditional pork lumpia which to me, was better than most you can get at other Filipino joints. You could tell they were made fresh (not frozen from a bag) and they were longer/larger than most lumpia Shanghai at restaurants. I also got the special of the day , the beef kaldareta plate. Owner mentioned to me it was his first time putting it on the menu so I tried it, esp with kaldareta being one of my fav dishes and not commonly found at modern Filipino joints like this. Plate was solid, came with Mac salad, basmatic garlic fried rice, cucumber salad to add some freshness. Kaldareta was solid, threw me off a bit because they were more strips of beef then beef cubes like im used to but it made sense, it being more of a modern Filipino joint. What was dope was the owner checked in on me and asked how I liked it and if there was enough meat (ulam) on the plate. That told me he knows how we filipinos like to eat (alot of ulam) and offered to give me extra kaldareta. He came back and gave me an extra side of it with extra beef and salad. That was "gold" to me. Overall loved the place. So many items I want to try next time. And the prices aren't too bad, especially the appetizers like the lumpia and musubi etc. Oh and I got a side of pancit which was also at a good cost. Love how we can get a side of pancit and not have to get the entire entree (which is still at a good price) compared to other pinoy joints. Looking forward to my next visit. Check this humble but cool, modern Filipino spot.
