The fresh seafood section is a standout feature, offering live crab, clams, lobster, and various fish that attract shoppers from across the city. The produce department is equally impressive, featuring exotic fruits you simply will not find at mainstream stores like Safeway or Lucky. A surprisingly neighborhood market. It is full of hard to find Asian ingredients. The produce section is one of the best and offers a wide selection of fruit you will never see at Safeway or Lucky stores. Like durian, rambutan, and lychee. The seafood section is outrageous. My wife is from the Philippines and she loves this place. She is able to find fish here that is the same from her home country. Please give M.O.M. a try.
They have good service, as well as decent speed having more lanes open when more customers shop they have not too long ago rearranged the placing of stuff to have more room in between the aisle, they have decent selection of Asian products. The vegetables they sell are cheap at certain times, but this place had a tendency to leave expired products that are mostly the packed goods not anything else it seems Probably due to them being a bit less careful in checking the packed goods due to the long time they can stay on shelves I see expired packaged goods, once every few months. Which isn't a lot just something I noticed that seems to be of importance. Restrooms are free to customers.
Here's to giving Five Stars to an old achool Asian supermarket. All the sights, smells, and sounds I got used to as a first generation (second generation?) as a child growing up in the Los Angeles area being taken to go grocery shopping weekly by my parents. It's all here. Enjoy while these places still exist!
I buy live crab here, clams and an occasional lobster, fish and stewing meat. The bottled and canned stuff is the main reason I come to this store, as they literally carry everything from Vietnamese, Filipino, and Chinese. Its a good stop off because its not as far as a 99, I am not big fan of their produce though, a lot of the stuff I have gotten from there goes bad within 5-6 days. Fish is always fresh just check the eyes and gills, they carry other live seafood here as well. And swamp buddies.
