To help set expectations, consider explaining your preferences and comfort level before a session begins. Ask what the session includes, how long hands-on service will last, and whether the therapist can adjust pressure or techniques. You can also ask how to communicate if something feels uncomfortable during the appointment. These practical questions are useful when selecting any massage spa, particularly when customer experiences differ. If you have an injury, are recovering from a health event, or have another medical concern, consider checking with a qualified healthcare professional about whether massage is appropriate for you.

One of the worst massage experiences I've ever had. More painful than anything. Therapist kept doing the same motions 100 times in a row, missed entire parts of the body and ended early. If I could pay $60 to go back in time an NOT have the massage I would.
Today I experienced something extremely disturbing at a massage business, and I’m sharing this for awareness and safety reasons. After working a 12-hour shift, I scheduled a 2-hour massage because I was in pain and needed relief from postpartum recovery and old injuries. Before arriving, I called and confirmed they accepted card payments because I did not want to stop at an ATM during my hour drive home. The massage itself was amazing. I genuinely enjoyed the experience and was even thinking about becoming a regular customer. When the massage ended, the woman at the front desk suddenly asked if I could pay through Venmo or Zelle instead. I had just gotten a new phone and didn’t have my Venmo set up, so I attempted to Zelle the payment instead. I transferred money between accounts and realized one of my cards was negative because most of my funds were stored in savings. I still sent the full $120 payment and planned to go home and transfer money from another card to send a tip afterward. I intended to tip well because the massage therapist truly did a great job. That’s when things escalated. The woman at the front desk blocked the exit and refused to let me leave, demanding a tip. I was prevented from leaving for over 10 minutes. This was after she already stood over me watching me move money between my accounts. I repeatedly explained that I already paid for the service and was not refusing payment. It took the massage therapist stepping away from another client to help diffuse the situation. As someone who has survived SA, having someone physically block the only exit caused me to panic. I repeatedly asked to leave. I eventually had to threaten to call the police before another person came out to intervene. To make matters worse, there was also a large black dog barking and growling aggressively at me while I was sitting there trying to access my bank accounts under pressure when I had my card ready to swipe! After finally getting downstairs, I requested a refund because my massage ended around 9:20ish PM and I was not able to leave until nearly 10pm due to being physically blocked and pressured over tipping. Later, someone identifying themselves as a “translator” called and claimed I was wrong because I “should have tipped.” They also said they only requested Zelle/Venmo to avoid charging taxes on cards. But whether I tip is my personal choice, and no business has the right to detain someone over it. And I didn’t mind the tax. I filed a police report because in Colorado, blocking someone from leaving against their will is unlawful. No one should ever feel trapped, pressured, intimidated, or unsafe while trying to leave a business they already paid. Please be careful and aware.
We had an excellent experience at Pure Massage Spa! Alyssa and Ann were fantastic! We will be back again soon for another massage!
I had a great massage, the type that you leave feeling like you actually got something done! I almost fell asleep at one point. Great price and she even threw in some hot stones and a foot cream for free. I read some of the other reviews and she only left the room once and at no point did i feel like she was on her phone. There was a beeping sound i kept hearing but besides that very good massage and very sweet ladies
avoid at all costs. terrible massage and huge waste of money. the massage therapist did not perform a whole hour and cut a full 10 min off of my service. she did not do the same massage strokes on either side of my body, spent longer on one side vs the other, did techniques that were not comfortable or productive like just pressing on my body- several times pressing directly on bones or my spine, overall very bad experience, also the music they play is terrible. it’s “cheap” but not that cheap, would rather spend my money somewhere else that i can count on a consistent experience. i contacted the business after this bad experience and they were not helpful, and said i needed to communicate better to the massage therapist - like excuse me? i’m not here to train you, i can provide communication on pressure, but not how to do the service, ridiculous. heed my warning and avoid.
