Before all the new matcha spots started popping up around Tampa/Orlando, this was the go-to spot we always came back to. On a Sunday afternoon, we made our usual Orlando girls’ trip stop and ordered a little bit of everything: the Strawberry Matcha Latte, Banana Pudding Matcha Latte, Black Sesame Latte Float with Matcha Soft Serve, and the seasonal Mango Sticky Rice Sundae (limited quantity daily). The star of the show, as always, was the matcha soft serve. It has that smooth, creamy texture with a deep, distinct matcha flavor that isn't overly sweet. For matcha lovers who enjoy that slightly bitter, earthy profile, this is still one of the best parts of the menu. The matcha lattes, however, do lean sweeter, so keep that in mind if you prefer a more traditional, stronger matcha taste. The main reason we came this time was for the seasonal Mango Sticky Rice Sundae, and it was definitely the most unique item we tried. The mango was fresh and vibrant, and the soft serve had a noticeable real-mango flavor with subtle coconut undertones. The sticky rice added a nice chewy texture and fragrant sweetness that tied everything together. After a few bites, the flavors started to feel a little repetitive, but overall it was a fun seasonal treat and worth trying while available. The Black Sesame Latte Float was probably my least favorite. The drink itself was fine, but the bold matcha flavor from the soft serve completely overpowered the black sesame. Matcha Maiko still stands out for its creative combinations and photo-worthy desserts, and there’s something nostalgic about coming back here during an Orlando trip. That said, with so many new matcha spots opening up, it doesn't quite have the same wow factor it used to. Still, if you're looking for unique matcha creations and a fun dessert experience, it's worth a visit.

This place gets pretty busy but if you love matcha this is a must visit. They have many versions and ways to try matcha from hot to iced, floats, and soft serves. They also offer coffee here which is a plus. Banana pudding matcha is popular in California so I wanted to try it. It is quite literally a banana pudding slapped on top of the iced matcha but it didn't disappoint. Price might have been a little high - almost $9 for a medium.

Located close to Mills Market, it's easy to get to this cafe and the menu is quite diverse with lots of options. Because it's admittedly difficult to find good matcha in the greater Orlando area, and understandable why it was so busy.. So in that sense the matcha is good - I tried the iced matcha to get a proper taste of the matcha and liked it, but coming from Toronto it was a typical matcha.
