We’ve eaten many meals served by Mia’s Table and nearly everything that we’ve ordered has been fantastic. Most of these meals were delivered, but we’ve also eaten in-restaurant at their kid-friendly Cypress, TX, location on Fry Rd, and our selections have allowed us to sample the better part of their menu. What I’ve always found remarkable is that even when delivered, their food has always arrived hot, fresh, and crispy; including the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. Eating in-restaurant is extra special, however, because each diner gets free soft-serve ice cream cones. How awesome is that, especially for the kids? I would be remiss, however, if I didn’t bring up the one item that we’ve found deficient on more than one occasion; and that is that both times I ordered a cheeseburger for delivery they showed up with virtually no veggies. Each promised veggie was present, but in such scant proportions as to be very disappointing. Again though, overall, Mia’s Table is truly outstanding for both deliveries, and especially, in-restaurant dining.
"Crispy Onion Rings + Classic Comfort Food" 02-06-26 This place came highly recommended by a coworker, and I must say, it was worth the risk of trying something new. My husband and I came for an early Friday evening dinner, and we were genuinely impressed. Customer service was good, not over the top, but definitely decent and pleasant. The atmosphere felt comfortable and inviting. They played a nice mix of music (blues, soul, Tejano, light rock, country, and more) at a mid-volume on the overhead speakers. There were also mounted flat-screens, but they weren't turned on, which I actually didn't mind. One of the coolest perks is the self-serve ice cream station, and the ice cream is delicious. It has that old-fashioned, rich vanilla flavor, like the 1950s when food tasted much better. On top of that, although not self-serve, they also have a "Shakes & Malts and Warm Cookies" station, which is such a fun touch. The dining area is large with plenty of seating options, (booths and tables), and everything looked clean and tidy. They also have a self-serve beverage station that was clean and well-stocked. Now for the best part: the food! Just a heads-up, this place believes in large portion sizes, and I'm not mad at it! I ordered the Mississippi Catfish Platter, and it was loaded. It came with 4 large catfish pieces, Texas toast, onion rings, and two sides. I chose the creamy whipped potatoes and coleslaw. My husband ordered the Mississippi Catfish with fried shrimp and French fries, and his plate also came with Texas toast and onion rings. I tasted one of his shrimp and it was delectable! OMG! My only complaint is that the fish could have been fried a little crispier with a little crunch to it. It was just too soft for my liking. Food Ratings: Mississippi Catfish Platter -- 4/5: Delicious flavor, but it wasn't crispy/crunchy--more soft than I expected Shrimp & Catfish Platter -- 4/5 Mia's Queso Dip -- 3/5 Mashed Potatoes -- 5/5: Thick consistency but still creamy Onion Rings -- 5/5: Cooked to perfection--crispy and crunchy Coleslaw -- 3/5: Not my favorite. It had more of a vinaigrette vibe, and I prefer a mayo-based, tangy slaw French Fries -- 3/5: Served hot, but nothing special Overall, I highly recommend Mia's Table if you're looking for simple comfort food without all the fancy extras. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing, perfect for unwinding after a long work week or for those lazy nights when you just don't feel like cooking.
Great experience at Mia's Table on a Saturday afternoon! It was not too busy but there was a fair amount of tables. The staff were super friendly and a delight to converse with. You order on the counter to the right-hand side of the restaurant, and after paying they give you a buzzer but they bring the food to you. The vibe of the restaurant was amazing. It felt like walking into an old-school diner with the checkered tablecloths and retro designs. I highly recommend getting a fountain drink as the cups solidified the experience and they had so many different drink options with free refills! I got the Chicken Fried Chicken with Black-Eye Peas and Green Beans. The chicken breast was smashed to be thin and wide, giving it a great crunch. It was topped with their creamy jalapeno gravy, which was extremely rich and savory with a peppery kick. I loved their Texas toast, which was glazed in salted butter; the saltiness beautifully enhanced by the smoothness of the gravy. Usually when I order a side of green beans, they taste like they came straight out of a can; not this one though! There were bits of bacon on both the black-eye peas and green beans which made them savory and not plain. The black-eye peas had an earthy flavor that offset the heaviness of the butter and gravy. My partner got their Kickin' Fried Chicken, which was essentially the same thing as the Chicken Fried Chicken, only smaller and with Buffalo sauce on a potato bun. It wasn't spicy at all, and the bun was pillowy and soft. The sweet potato fries was a great side, the sweetness counterbalancing the otherwise heavily pepperiness of the sauces. They were super crispy as well. Last but not least, the dessert that got us through those doors: their free frozen custard. They have a soft-serve machine near the entrance where you can choose to get a small sauce container-sized or waffle cone. The frozen custard was extremely rich and smooth, leaving a lingering taste in our lips as we finished our meal. Did I mention it was free?
I am writing to convey my profound satisfaction following my inaugural visit to your establishment. The level of customer service I received was truly exemplary, with your staff demonstrating remarkable professionalism and attentiveness throughout my experience. The culinary offerings were equally impressive. The chicken fried chicken, in particular, was masterfully prepared; its ideal tenderness was perfectly complemented by a remarkably light and crisp batter. Additionally, the accompanying Mac and Cheese and green beans were exquisitely crafted, providing delightful flavors that enhanced the overall meal. A highly appreciated amenity was the complimentary ice cream, available in both cone and cup options, which served as a wonderfully refreshing and Palatable conclusion to the dining experience.
We’ve been here quite a few times over the years, mainly because it’s close to our house and convenient. The kids also absolutely love the free ice cream machine, which, honestly, is probably the main reason we keep ending up back here. This place is undeniably popular, but in my personal opinion, it’s massively overrated compared to the reviews it receives. More often than not, I leave feeling disappointed rather than impressed. The food is consistently underwhelming. The flavors tend to be bland and forgettable, and the fries are a gamble every single time, either crispy and decent or soft, greasy, and limp. There never seems to be much consistency coming out of the kitchen. Unfortunately, the service hasn’t helped the experience either. The counter staff often come across as unfamiliar with the menu and not particularly well trained. We’ve had orders come out wrong multiple times, sent items back more than once, and on occasion had to remind staff about dishes they simply forgot altogether. On my most recent visit, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It was about as uninspiring as food gets: a dry piece of grilled chicken on fairly bland bread, with some pesto mayo and a few leaves of arugula trying their best to make it interesting. To be fair, this time the fries were actually crispy, which felt like a small victory. At the end of the day, if it weren’t for the kids and the hypnotic power of the ice cream machine, I honestly wouldn’t return. There are simply too many better places out there at the same price point.
