Located in the heart of San Jose, CA, Minh Q Huynh Md is a dedicated Internist practice committed to providing medical care to the local community. Situated at 57 N 13th St, this clinic serves as a healthcare hub for residents seeking internal medicine services. As part of FindALoco's directory of Vietnamese-owned businesses, it aims to offer accessible and attentive care in a familiar setting.
The practice is led by experienced medical professionals, including Dr. Aundrea Huynh, who patients describe as terrific and very nice. While the overall rating of 2.7 from 12 reviews indicates some areas for improvement, feedback highlights both strengths and challenges. On the positive side, many patients find the receptionists and nurses to be sweet, pleasant, and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The waiting room is often noted as comfortable and soothing, which can ease the stress of medical visits.
However, based on customer reviews, there are aspects that the clinic is working to enhance. Some patients have reported longer wait times, with waits averaging about an hour, and mention that the practice's facilities may feel outdated. Communication at the front desk has been a point of feedback, particularly for primarily English-speaking patients who may encounter language barriers, as the staff's primary strength lies in serving the Vietnamese-speaking community. It's important for visitors to be prepared for potential communication nuances and to verify insurance and payment details in advance.
This clinic is especially suitable for Vietnamese-speaking individuals and families in the San Jose area who seek an Internist familiar with their cultural and linguistic needs. The staff's friendly demeanor and the doctor's attentive care make it a viable option for those prioritizing a community-oriented healthcare experience. While English-speaking patients are welcome, they may benefit from having a translator or clear communication strategies to ensure a smooth visit.
Minh Q Huynh Md operates with consistent hours: Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 or 5:00 PM, with closures on weekends. The clinic encourages prospective patients to schedule appointments and experience their services firsthand, focusing on building trust through concrete care and a supportive environment. Sign in to reviewFirt time patient and after being treated, I can see why the practice is rated so low. The practice is very outdated, the wait time was about 1 hour and the front staff need improvement in communication skills, but they were pretty much friendly. I was treated by Dr. Aundrea Huynh (daughter), very sweet, thoughtful and experienced. Dr. Aundrea speaks perfect English (I mention this because the practice is predominantly non-English speaking) Dr. Aundrea heard me and treated my condition the best she could and for this reason my rating is 4 stars.
I would not recommend this office for primarily English-speaking patients. (Note: I can't speak to the experience of primarily Viet-speaking clients, and I understand that the office may provide important services for this demographic.) Multiple times, I have had to research and advocate for myself to get health questions answered. When I need to communicate with the doctor to provide updates (i.e. he asked me to get a blood test without knowing that a med would affect my results), I'm charged an additional co-pay to provide him with updates. For telehealth appointments, we are charged a co-pay and are provided with a window to expect a call; he regularly reaches out an hour or more after the window has ended. On our most recent phone call, he became agitated and unprofessional. He suggested that folks who cannot afford high premiums should expect delayed specialized care. Again, I would not recommend this office if you have an alternative available.
Receptionist eating lunch right at the check in desk. My insurance company only gave us digital cards and that upset her further. I couldn’t complete some paperwork as the information was on my phone that she would not give back to me. Then they demanded I pay in cash suddenly but took my card after I yelled at them. When doing to the doctor for a full physical to rule out any physical issues before you go get evaluated for more serious mental health issues shouldn’t be an arugument. I had to argue with the nurse and doctor about what I was getting a physical. I’m sorry that I am bipolar and it is not a visual symptom that is always front and center. Lastly just on top of it all the doctor wore slippers and socks. Just seems in these times taking the extra step for sanitation is not asking too much. Now luckily in the meantime I was able to find a different doctor group but now these people were cold shouldering transferring any records they have. We shall see if they even took a note I have a feeling it was all a a big scam,
The front desk staff at the doctor's office was quite rude.
I love this clinic the Dr. terrific Very nice and The receptionists and nurses are so sweet and very pleasant to be around the waiting room is very comfortable and soothing ☺️
