I moved from NYC to Irvine three years ago and really struggled to find a good barber who truly understands what you want and what suits your style and face. Vincent is exactly that guy—he delivers exactly what you ask for! Besides giving me a great haircut that I’m really satisfied with, he also permed my hair, and as usual, he exceeded my expectations. My cousin went from dark to blonde, and once again, Vincent, he’s a great colorist as well. I highly recommend Vincent to everyone!

I’m very disappointed with the lack of price transparency at this salon, although I do want to be fair and say that my hair turned out very pretty and I like the color. Before my appointment, I asked in person how much the service would cost and was told the total would be around $140 or “around one hundred something.” Based on that information, I decided to proceed. However, after the service, the final service price was $310, and on top of that there was a strong expectation of a 15% tip. I felt pressured to tip this amount after staff complained that my husband did not tip for his service, which made the situation uncomfortable and the final cost much higher than expected. At no point before starting did anyone clearly explain or confirm the final total price with me. If I had known upfront that the service would be $310 plus tip, I would not have agreed. The same issue happened with my husband’s haircut. There is a sign outside stating men’s haircut is $28, but he was charged $45 total because hair washing cost an extra $17, which was not disclosed in advance. His regular salon charges $25 total including washing, so this was unexpected. I’m sharing this review to be fair and helpful to others. The result was good, but clear, upfront pricing and confirming the total before starting any service is very important. I hope the salon improves communication so future clients don’t have the same experience.

Vincent is absolutely amazing! Not only is he incredibly skilled at both haircuts and perms, but he also has a great eye for style and detail. My hair turned out even better than I expected! Plus, he’s super friendly and professional, making the whole experience enjoyable. And let’s be honest—he’s really handsome too! Highly recommend him if you want a perfect haircut and a stylist who knows exactly what he’s doing!

First time here. Came in at 4pm with an appointment and sat down almost immediately. So far so good. I asked the stylist for a textured fringe and showed him some photos for reference (see attached photos). He upsold me on a wash and haircut ($45) because he said it would help with the haircut. Makes sense. Let me start by saying he was very kind and nice to me throughout the process and we had some nice conversation too. But man just wasn't it. So he started by shaving my sides and the back of my head at lightning speed. It was rushed and as you can tell by the photos, he shaved way too high compared to the photo I showed him. When I pointed out that he cut it too short he insisted it was the same. I'll let you decide. When he cut the front of my hair it was like three snips from the side max. It was quick. He made no attempt to measure how much he was cutting. As you can see from the photos, he cut it so my hair only went down to the middle of my forehead as opposed to eyebrow height. Look at the referenced photos. Not to mention the lopsidedness. Again, he insisted it was the same. The top of my head was similarly cut quickly and seemingly without any hint of technique or care in the world. Just snip without any particular angle or length, just snip snip snip. Done in 10 seconds. The stylist insisted with short hair it needs to be styled. He tried. And my head ended up looking like a football with hair. Anyways, I ended up paying full price and I even tipped him because I have no self respect. Would not come here again and I'll be wearing a hat until I look like a human again.

I can't speak highly enough of Mushang Style Salon. The entire experience, from the moment I walked in, was fantastic. After 10 years of maintaining the same hairstyle, I wanted to change it up as part of my New Year’s resolutions. The entire staff was super friendly, skillful, and displayed a high level of professionalism, especially Vincent and Danny. They listened attentively to some of the ideas I had and provided personalized hairstyles most suitable for me. That said, I am very happy with the result and highly recommend Mushang Style Salon for their excellent service and expertise.
