Sign in to reviewI came here on my break while working the election on March 3rd and wanted to get some banh mi for my wife and I. I got meatball with egg and pate and she got chicken. Hands down, this was the best banh mi we have ever had. Both of us agree. Everything was so flavorful and tender and juicy, and the bread was perfect too. We don't live in the area but may have to take a trip to come back sometime. I'd love to try their BBQ pork my next visit. I'd also like to note that the service and conversation was absolutely excellent. The entire experience was wonderful and I'd recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
Got the beef/steak sandwich and I almost ordered ANOTHER one right after! Thank God for self control:) but sandwich is THAT good!! And good service too
A good friend told us about this little gem of a restaurant; he often bought the banh mi to go for us at work and said they’re a great family-owned business. Had time today to stop by and met Daniel, who immediately knew who we were when we said our friend would buy us their sandwiches. Daniel was super warm and inviting to my wife and I and we knew he valued our patronage and we knew we feel good about spending our hard-earned money with him. He went over their selection and we decided to go for their wonderful deal of buy 5 sandwich and get the 6th one free along with drinks and some delicious Vietnamese yogurt. We got the thit nuong (BBQ) and the combo, and both were spectacular. I mean it, they were SPECTACULAR; the bread was toasty, yet soft and warm, the meats tasted perfectly seasoned & prepared and the veggies and pickled carrots were next-level fresh and many times, it’s the veggies that will make or break any banh mi. I’ve grown up eating many banh mi from many different restaurants all around SW Houston and Chinatown, and by far and hands down, Nguyen Ngoc’s is the best of the best. Enjoyed the bahn mi sandwiches, preferred the pork ones since they tend to load the sandwich more with pork more than the chicken and beef ones. Flan 🍝 dessert was strong in a brandy sauce. I think I ordered about 5 and got the 6th sandwich free. Don't know if that deal is ongoing, but I enjoyed everything I tried here. Male owner is nice and talkative, remembers your order on repeat visits; wholesome and friendly.
I love coming here! The food is AMAZING! Grilled BBQ on a crossiant and grilled chicken on a baguette are my faves. I come here at least 3 to 4 times a month!
