No1 Asian Supermarket is an Asian grocery store at 2842 St Vincent St, Philadelphia, PA 19149, serving shoppers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It offers a broad mix of Asian groceries alongside fresh produce, fish, and other seafood, making it a place to explore when you are planning a home-cooked meal or looking for ingredients that may be harder to find in a conventional supermarket. Customer reviews mention Chinese goods and a variety of unfamiliar items, so first-time visitors may discover products beyond the ones they came in to buy.
Shoppers describe finding fresh-looking fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and seafood, and a range of ingredients suitable for making dumplings and other favorite dishes at home. The selection can be especially useful when a recipe calls for several Asian pantry ingredients in one trip. Reviews also single out almond cookies and egg roll cookies as tasty finds. Product availability and individual impressions can vary, but the feedback points to variety as a notable part of the shopping experience rather than a small, narrowly focused selection.
Expect a busy, densely stocked market: some customers say the store can feel extremely packed, and the aisles and price information may not always be easy to navigate. Reviews are mixed, with an overall rating of 3.8 from 1,222 reviews. Some shoppers also raise concerns about pricing compared with another location and describe difficulty communicating with staff. One review objects to not being allowed to select a blue crab personally. These experiences are not universal, but they are useful context if clear signage, language support, choosing specific live seafood, or comparing prices is important to you. Consider checking product and selection details in person.
No1 Asian Supermarket may suit Philadelphia home cooks looking for Asian ingredients, people preparing dumplings, and shoppers interested in browsing a wide variety of groceries, produce, fish, seafood, and packaged cookies. Not allowed to pick your own blue crab is insane maybe because we can tell the difference between good and bad ones?? that’s like not being able to pick your own fish and chicken i immediately walked out
I personally prefer the one in South Philly because they are cheaper by a $1.00 and a lot of their food prices, not sure why that is. I rated them a 3 because recently I went there and the man wouldn’t serve me because I didn’t speak Spanish, he spoke to other Spanish speaking ppl and ignored me. Finally the young man who was cleaning had finished and came to assist me and he started talking to the guy and then he look at me and I said yes that was very rude of you not to serve me.
Really packed with unfamiliar items to me but looks really good quality fruit and veggies. Fresh fish and other seafood looks and smells fresh. And the store is full of so much variety. Isles could be better marked and prices. Some things are literally lost in translation but it’s fun to see and shop for different food and housewares. Store could use an update. But it gets the job done.
Come here for fresh fish, a very good variety of goods from Chine. Cookies are also incredibly tasty. Recommend almond cookies and egg roll cookies
I was very excited my first time in this market. It was extremely packed in there. It was so worth it. Fresh veggies and fruit. A large variety of asian ingredients. I was originally there for ingredients to make dumplings, but ended up buying so much more. I got ingredients to all kinds of favorite dishes and made them at home. It was so much better than I thought it'd be. There's a great meat and fish selection there as well. More surprising was how much live options they offered. Especially the giant frogs that made me jump out my skin lol The staff were friendly and helpful. It was an experience I need to make more often. Safe to say I will be back to try making more dishes from asian cuisine recipes. I definitely recommend this market 👌
