Nue is easily one of the most unique food spots we’ve tried in Seattle. The menu feels like a tour of street food flavors from around the world, and every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The portions were generous too, which made the experience feel even more worth it. The highlight for us was definitely the giant curry soaked toast topped with fresh herbs and cream. Super rich, flavorful, and unlike anything we’ve had before. The fried chicken and waffles were also amazing with the perfect balance of crispy, savory, and sweet. And the pineapple cornbread completely surprised us, lightly sweet, soft, and not overloaded with sugar at all. The seating is a little tight, especially during busy hours, and the prices are slightly on the higher side, but honestly, for a downtown Seattle spot serving food this creative and flavorful, it felt justified. The drinks, outdoor vibe, and overall energy made the whole experience even better. This is absolutely one of those places you come back to just to keep exploring the menu. Can’t wait to try more dishes next time!

On our recent visit to Seattle we made it a point to try all new restaurants. No repeats from previous visits and Nue was at the top of our list for its international flair. I booked a reservation weeks out and we got our party of nine right in for brunch on a Sunday. We just loved the vibe of this place from the moment we arrived. The decor. The ultra friendly staff who greeted us and sat us at our table. And I always love an open kitchen in the dining room. This was the last meal with family before we headed back home to Hawaii later that evening. So the goal was to order as many dishes as possible and share share share. We ordered the Tower of Chengdu Wings, Japanese Zosui, Burmese Laphet Thoke salad, Caribbean Pineapple Cornbread, World Butter Board and Beirut Hummus. Talk about a dance party on your palate. Every dish was so flavorful, thoughtfully prepared and so damn tasty. Broke da mout to be exact. The wings were amazing and packing heat with Thai chilies all over. I avoided the chilies and devoured the chicken. Yum. I loved the Burmese tea salad, cornbread and hummus. The World Butter Board is a must if you’re in the mood. They have a great selection of cocktails and beers too. The Kat Chai was refreshing and delicious…and the Rupee Beer Basmati Rice Lager was something I never had before. That was really nice as well with the meal. After we finished our meal we couldn’t help but notice all of the different collectibles displayed in the wall. This character with big red hair caught my wife’s attention. She was excited to find out they actually made shirts with the character on it…so we also left with some Nue swag. All in all a great Sunday morning for bunch here at this spot. Awesome food, excellent service and a paid lot right next door for convenience. I’m so glad we made it here and can’t wait to come back on a future visit. Mahalo to the Nue team for an incredible experience. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

I came here for Seattle Restaurant Week - where they were offering a deal where you pick an appetizer, entree, and dessert - for 35 in total. For my appetizer I had the fries. These weren't your typical fries though. They were Dutch-style, coming topped with mayo, satay, onions, and chili sauce. A mix of Dutch and Indonesian flavors. This probably was my favorite dish. The combination of pungency, fattiness, crispiness, and spiciness was very good. It kind of reminds you of a plate of nachos, but the fries themselves have a better taste than a bed of chips would have. They manage to stay crispy almost until the end. The main dish I had was the South African Bunny Chow. This was a chicken masala curry inside a bread bowl, spilling out on either side. This was very solid as well. The curry tasted similar to a butter chicken - lightly spiced and creamy, but the chicken inside was quite juicy. The act of putting this inside a bread bowl was very cool. It made it easy to get both the bread and the curry in a single bite with a spoon I didn't like the dessert much, though. What I had was the chocolate malva, but the apricot was way too forward and the sweetness was missing. I tried the Danish cake as well but found this similarly disappointing. The price ended up being somewhat expensive, at around $45 per person after the meal, despite the deal. Portions were solid though. Overall, it's a cool avenue to try different street foods, but I wouldn't say anything special. 7.25/10

Nue offers comfort food inspired by multiple countries culinary tradition, from South Africa to Japan and the Caribbean. The interior decoration is full of travel memorabilia worth spending a time exploring and reading through the various travel books. We went there for brunch and had the pineapple cornbread and their signature South African Sunny Bunny. The cornbread was good, but it was the Sunny Bunny that stole the show. A very comfy and rich delicious curry served on bread. We also had it with a side of rice which was excellent.

Upon entering this place is personally seated based on size. A home vibe. My first waiter was rude and inpatient with this being our 1st visit. Ran out the food I wanted and had to change options. However that coconut cornbread baby yessss. The food was absolutely worth it. I recommend and hope to be back!
