NuVintage is an auto repair shop in Arvada, Colorado, serving drivers and project owners looking for help with vintage Volkswagen vehicles. Customer reviews describe experience with classic VW models, including Vanagons and Westfalias, and work ranging from transmission leaks and ignition issues to speedometer problems and an engine installation. If you are new to the vintage VW world, reviewers say the team can be a knowledgeable resource as you learn about your vehicle and plan a project. NuVintage is located at 5595 Sheridan Blvd, Arvada, CO 80002.

Reviews mention Sam and his crew as approachable, knowledgeable, and willing to discuss the work. One customer appreciated being offered a tour of the shop, which made the visit engaging for their 10-year-old son; they hoped to return as they worked on their project. Other customers describe bringing their vehicles back over several years for different repairs and recommend the shop for vintage Volkswagen needs. These experiences suggest NuVintage may suit VW owners who value access to experienced help and want to talk through repairs or ongoing project work.

Reported services include installing a Subaru 2.5-liter engine in a 1978 Westfalia, addressing transmission leaks, replacing an ignition, and restoring speedometer function. A customer also brought in a 1985 Vanagon for head-gasket work. These are examples shared in customer reviews, not a complete service menu, so contact the shop to confirm whether it can handle your specific vehicle and repair. For a specialty vehicle, it can be useful to explain the model, symptoms, and project goals when arranging a visit.

Feedback is not uniform, and it is worth discussing timing and estimates clearly before authorizing work. One reviewer reported that a repair expected to take a couple of weeks took several months and cost more than the initial estimate; other reviewers describe the team as professional, honest, and fairly priced. NuVintage has a 4.4-star rating from 121 reviews, reflecting a range of customer experiences. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed Monday and weekends. Call ahead to confirm availability, ask about the expected schedule, and clarify how estimate changes will be communicated.

Unfortunately, the worst experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic. I brought it in 1985 Vanagon in September 2023 and told it would be a couple of weeks and that it needed new head gaskets and was quoted around 2k. End of January roles around and it’s finally finished, but the total is now over 4k. I was informed that they raised their labor prices January 1st. This is just the beginning. I get the van home, park it and get up the next morning to move it into the garage and it won’t start. I call NuVintage and they tell me I can pay to have it towed back to look at but theirs nothing they can do and that I should try jump starting it. I get the van pushed into the garage by friends and two days later coolant is spilling all over the concrete and oil leaking. The issue that I originally took it in for happened two days after I got it back and was charged over $4,000 for. I think it’s fair to say these mechanics are deceiving and have no integrity for the work that they do and love to take advantage of women who need help.

Sam and his team have done a bunch of work for me over the years from installing a 2.5 Subaru motor in my 78 Westphalia, fixing transmission leaks, replacing my ignition and getting my speedo to work. They have always been professional, honest and fairly priced. I would recommend them in a heart beat.
