Sign in to reviewBeautifully decorated Vietnamese dessert shop with fresh and high quality items. The parking can be hard to find at a time but if you're willing to park a bit farther then there should be enough spaces for you nearby. There are plenty of seats inside to hang out with friends and family. The employees are friendly, they even brought the orders to our table. Otherwise, they will call you by the order numbers. Their tofu are so silky and light, a must get items! I highly recommend to go with regular sweetness because it was not too sweet at all! And if you're travelling, ask for ice on the side!!
Nice new small dessert restaurant added to VN Town. This place sells good Vietnamese desserts (chè and tàu hủ). You can adjust the sweetness level which is great! Our group ordered D1 House signature (chè thập cẩm), D5 Thai dessert (chè Thái) and S1 Egg cream soy pudding (Tàu hủ kem trứng). Really delicious 🤤 I will visit again!
I couldn’t find any trash bins inside the store. The outside Vietnam Town trash bins were completely full and trash had spilled onto the ground as always. It appears the store avoids to handle their trash. Just smart moves. 1 star for being dirty
I believe this place is fairly new in Vietnam town. My friends and I stopped by to try it out after lunch. The decor is simple and cute. There were about 6 tables altogether inside, it’s not a huge place but not tiny either. There is a small cafe-like table and also a larger table outside. The menu is straightforward, not busy. The pictures on the menu were in bowls but our orders came out in a cup, I was kinda looking forward to a bowl for space but maybe it just depends. The price is average for today’s day and age lol. I got the classic, chè ba màu (3 colored dessert), I thought that if they can do a classic chè right, then I’ll come back to try other items. My friend and I ordered the same thing and their order came out with a piece of hair in it. He brought it to the staff’s attention and they replaced it so quickly at no charge and no questions asked. We appreciate that! It was one of the best chè 3 màu I’ve had in San Jose! There are sweetness levels, which is a first. The staff recommended 50% sweet and that was the perfect level. 100% would have been way over the top. All the beans were cooked to perfection, not too mushy or too firm. They had all the usual ingredients. There were subtly sweet coconut jelly cubes which I’ve never had in a chè ba màu recipe, but it grew on me since I enjoy textures in my food and it added that texture. The liquid wasn’t too thin and runny, it was the perfect consistency. My husband isn’t usually a huge Vietnamese dessert soup person and he really enjoyed it! My friends also were raving about it. We forgot to take a picture lolol, that’s how much we liked it! Bottom line: Def will be back!
We came here after reading the reviews and tried two of their durian desserts - d1 and d9. There was hardly a teaspoon of durian in the dessert, no other fruits and only different kinds of jellies. Not worth the price imo. It wasn’t a bad dessert per se but nothing like the Che in Vietnam. Please go to “The Sweet Corner” in the same plaza and try their tropical halo.
