Perfect Cut is a hair salon at 909 Race St in Philadelphia, PA, with a straightforward, neighborhood-shop feel. Customer reviews describe a cozy, no-frills space that is clean and serviceable rather than focused on luxury extras. The salon has a 4.4-star rating from 219 reviews, reflecting a range of experiences from customers who appreciate the cuts and prices to others who have had concerns about their results. If you are looking for a practical place to discuss a haircut in central Philadelphia, Perfect Cut may be worth considering, while it is sensible to explain your preferences clearly before the service begins.

Reviews highlight textured layers, scissor texturing, fringe, and tapered cuts as examples of work customers have requested. One customer praised stylist Oscar for shaping textured layers, while another described a mod cut with a textured fringe and balanced tapering at the back and sides. These accounts suggest that the salon may suit people seeking a defined shape, movement, or texture in a cut. Customers also mention working with both Nick and Oscar, though experiences vary. The review details do not establish that every stylist offers the same approach, so it can help to describe the length, shape, and finish you want and confirm that your stylist understands before proceeding.

Affordability is a recurring positive theme in the available feedback. Customers reported paying $27 for a layered cut and $20 for a men's cut at the time of their visits; those are individual review examples, not a guarantee of current prices. One reviewer valued being able to experiment with haircuts without spending as much as they expected elsewhere. At the same time, another customer reported a very disappointing cut and highlight experience and raised concerns about damage and styling thick hair. That account is an important reminder that results are personal and that chemical services or complex requests deserve a detailed consultation. Consider discussing your hair history, desired outcome, and any concerns before committing to a service.

Perfect Cut is located at 909 Race St, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Its posted hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; it is closed on Monday. The mix of reported prices, clean and uncomplicated setting, and examples of textured cutting may appeal to customers who prioritize a practical haircut over a highly polished salon atmosphere. Reviews are not uniform, however, so use them as individual accounts rather than a promise of a particular result. For a visit, check the hours and current pricing directly, and communicate clearly about the cut or color you have in mind. That preparation can help you decide whether Perfect Cut is a good fit for your needs in Philadelphia.

My stylist was Oscar and I love how he cuts textured layers. I usually feel like layered cuts can get expensive but my cut was only $27 and I couldn’t believe it because the same cut in NYC would have been $80-$90. The salon itself is a cozy no frills shop, but it’s very clean, and the service included shampoo and a blow out, both done very nicely. I’ll definitely be going there again in the future.

I recommend this place, my friends and I went here and got a clark Kent mod cut with textured fringe. He had really good texturing with the scissors and craft with layering. He added the perfect volume with symmetrical tapering on the back/sides. The price is also affordable $20 for men’s cut. W shouts @josh yao

I've been coming here for about a year and some change. I like to experiment with my haircuts so the prices are great because I'm not spending a lot on something I'm unsure of. My experience is out of the ordinary for most salon visitors so take it as you will. I don't require a lot from my stylists other than being able to communicate with me about what I'm looking for. Every time has been positive. Shout-out Francis who recommend I stop using conditioner and I found a fine hair specific shampoo and my hair hasn't been this nice in a while! I occasionally get a wash and the women who are there are very thorough. If you have a tender head be sure to speak up because they can be pretty firm which I like but it's not for everyone.

do not come here if you have thick hair. i had a cut and highlight appointment today with nick. i haven't dyed my hair in 5 years because i wanted to be able to work with untreated/uncolored hair, and this salon definitely ruined my hair. i have spent the past few hours trying to style it in different ways, all of which look horrible. i showed a reference picture of hair below the shoulders and a cold chocolate brown on black hair. i have very thick hair which i love, and he thinned out 90% of my hair. this isn't even an exaggeration, as i can barely even make a ponytail anymore. on top of that, he cut layers to the point where my hair looks thick and frumpy at the top and nonexistent at the shoulders. i never asked for it to be thinned. for the color, he chose a warm bronzey-orange brown that was very clearly not the COLD brown i asked for. the color is honestly the least of my problems, because i can't even look at my hair without seeing the horrendous cut. i have been coming here for several years, and this was the final straw to make me never want to return. none of the hairstyles understand what to do with thick hair, so they take it upon themselves to thin it to an unrecognizable state, and then try to work with it. on top of everything, when he was styling my hair he did not apply any heat protectant, and he ironed my wet hair, which fried it (?????) the prices would be great if the work wasn't so terrible. this is not a salon level cut, and i genuinely believe i could have done a better job by myself. the only part that looks good is my bangs, which i cut myself. the best part is that i can't even go to another salon to try and fix this mess, because there's literally no hair to work with.

I’ve been to this salon at least four times and have worked with both barbers — Nick and Oscar. Nick was fine: polite, respectful, and actually listened to what I wanted. …
