Sign in to reviewVery unique table ware! It was cute and creative! The noodles were excellent, and they put basil in a jar which was cute too! We asked the meat must be well done and it came with perfect texture. We really liked they spared the noodles and the sauce. Spring rolls were good too. Our server was very friendly even he didn’t understand English well. I checked their restroom and it was clean and space. I definitely will go back again if I have another chance.
It’s kind of fun the way they serve your pho and toppings lol. Otherwise it’s a great pho, not the best in the area but still good. For 18 bucks though? Idk Dac biet bac: Get The broth was clean and flavorful. Not too sweet and I didn’t have to add much except lime for it to be perfect for me. There’s hella meat and the fresh noodles had a really good texture so i’d recommend getting that too if you’re looking at building your own. However 18 bucks for pho? Inflation or am i just too frugal now LOL idk Besides that service was decent and inside was clean and nice. Little bouquet of herbs too lol so they trying. Food: 8/10 Service: 6/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Price: 5/10
Came here with a few friends on a weekend craving some solid Vietnamese noodle soup, and wow, this spot in Garden Grove absolutely delivered. My buddies went for the Southern style #4 and #7 (loaded with all the classic toppings and that richer, slightly sweeter broth vibe), while I stuck to the Northern style #6 – cleaner, more subtle flavors that let the beef and broth really shine through without overwhelming spices. The broth? Insanely good. Clear, deeply flavorful from hours of simmering (you can tell it’s made with care), and perfectly balanced – not too salty or greasy like some places. The portions are huge, with generous cuts of tender, high-quality beef (they use grass-fed options, which makes a difference). Noodles were spot-on chewy, and the sides (fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lime) were super fresh. Service was quick and friendly, the place is modern and clean with plenty of seating, and that little complimentary basil plant to take home? Such a cool touch. I’ve tried pho all over OC and beyond, and this is easily my new #1. If you’re in Garden Grove/Little Saigon area, skip the usual spots and hit up Pho Flavor – you won’t regret it. Already planning my next visit!
Generous meat portions with tasty broth. I like the larger flat rice noodle. The basil they serve is super fresh and I like how generous they are with it. Eggrolls were okay. The Chinese donut was a bit greasy. I would stick to the pho. The Viet coffee was very good. Coffee was rich and tasty.
**Pho Flavor: A Veteran's Ode to Authentic Pho** Walking into Pho Flavor feels like stepping into a modern celebration of Vietnam's soul. As someone who has loved phở since childhood, I can immediately sense their commitment to tradition. The journey truly begins with the broth: a 12-hour slow-simmered beef stock infused with a multi-generational secret herb blend passed down through the family. Each spoonful delivers the depth and balance one craves—rich, layered flavors with a hint of sweetness, yet never overly salty. **Contemporary Ambiance & Signature Touches** The interior of Pho Flavor blends tradition with modern flair. The warm, wood-paneled walls are illuminated by vibrant neon signage featuring the brand's logo, and each table is set with bespoke dishware. The space strikes a perfect balance between vibrancy and warmth. Beyond the visual aesthetic, Pho Flavor adds charming custom touches. Each table features a clear glass bottle of fresh Thai basil as a living centerpiece—a special brand-made "vase" of greens that diners are invited to take home as a herb plant. **Innovative Three-Tier Presentation** Pho Flavor presents its phở in an inventive three-tier porcelain setup. The top lid holds hoisin sauce and sriracha; the middle bowl is brimming with bean sprouts, herbs, jalapeños, and lime; and the bottom bowl contains the steaming noodle soup. This design keeps ingredients separate until you're ready to combine them, turning the meal into a ritual. With vibrant herbs in the middle and the fragrant broth below, the experience is both interactive and visually striking. **Northern vs. Southern Style Pho** The menu at Pho Flavor features both regional styles of pho, and I thoroughly enjoyed each one. The Phở Bắc Đặc Biệt (Northern-style special pho) highlighted a nuanced, mildly salty broth with a moderate fat content, reflecting classic Hanoi flavors. I found the Northern broth to be "richer, complex, and slightly saltier" than its Southern counterpart. This bowl was generously topped with tái phi lê mignon (filet mignon), nạm (brisket), gầu (fatty flank), gân (tendon), sách (honeycomb tripe), bò viên (meatballs), plenty of garlic and spring onions, and fresh herbs—all swimming in a moderately fatty stock. In contrast, the Phở Nam Đặc Biệt (Southern-style special pho) featured a sweeter, slightly lighter broth and a sprinkle of finely sliced green onions. The Southern bowl had a touch of creaminess, with its gentle sweetness and grass-fed beef, reflecting the more laid-back Saigon style. Together, these two versions created a delightful yin-and-yang of northern and southern techniques. **In summary:** Each variation was delicious and authentically prepared, allowing me to appreciate the subtle contrasts of regional Vietnamese cuisine. **Nostalgia, Flavor, and Final Thoughts** Dining at Pho Flavor felt deeply personal. Beyond its clever design elements, each sip and slurp evoked cherished memories: childhood mornings sipping soup on the porch, the signature bite of cilantro and lime, and the velvety richness of perfectly rendered beef fat. The broth's aroma transported me across generations. It truly "reminded me of Vietnam" with its faithful execution—familiar rice noodles, generous servings of meat, and that unmistakably homey broth flavor. Every bowl was hearty and generous, tasted fresh and carefully sourced. The service was friendly and efficient, and the thoughtful touches were appreciated. In conclusion, Pho Flavor undoubtedly earns its reputation as one of Orange County's finest pho destinations. I wholeheartedly agree; it ranks among the top three bowls of phở I've had in Orange County, if not the entire state. **Rating:** ★★★★★ (One of the top 3 pho experiences in Orange County, if not the state.)
