Sign in to reviewWe love this place. One of the things that stand out this time (apart from the food of course) we went was a very cool playlist that was playing on the restaurant. My gf was kind of dancing to the music. I ordered the pho with rare meat, I took a picture of it so that you can check it out for yourself. You pretty much throw the meat inside the hot pho and it will cook right there. Very good plate if you ask me. My gf ordered the Pad Thai, which she is really a fan of it. She is always looking for Pad Thais all around LA, but she said this one in particular was very tasty. She recommends it to ALL. Very clean place, parking could be a little tricky because is on Washington Blvd so it could get a little difficult to find a place to park, but not impossible. I recommend this place to everyone! Service was amazing too.
I visited this pho restaurant with my cousin, and we both ordered the Pho Rare Beef NY ($17.45). The broth was light, clean, and flavorful, and the beef slices were fresh and tender. All the veggies and herbs were served separately, which made it easy to customize the bowl the way we liked. The portion size was good, the service was friendly, and the restaurant had a cozy, local vibe. It was a nice spot for a warm pho meal on a sunny day. I’d definitely come back again.
I came across this restaurant through a food recommendation page shared by colleagues, where it was described as having excellent food. Based on those recommendations, I decided to give it a try. Initially, I considered ordering takeout through Uber Eats, where I noticed a Pho Sirloin stir fry listed. The photos presented a dish that appeared generous in portion, particularly with respect to the amount of meat. It was visibly abundant, even lining the rim of the bowl. However, my in-person experience was markedly different. The dish I was served bore little resemblance to what was advertised. As shown in the attached photo, the total amount of meat in my $15 bowl of pho was equivalent to a single soup spoon. When I asked the waitress whether this was the standard portion, she confirmed that it was, explaining that this is how the dish is served when ordered stir-fried. As a result, I felt compelled to order an additional side of raw beef. Even then, the meal remained unsatisfactory. I did not finish the broth, and the overall balance of the dish was off, with an estimated ratio of 80% broth to 10% noodles. I am visiting from the East Coast and eat pho regularly, often exploring a variety of options. I have never encountered such a disappointing experience. Additionally, there is an automatic 18% gratuity applied.. even for a party of one. Justified as a way to ensure employees earn a living wage. While I support fair compensation, it is difficult to reconcile that principle with an experience that felt significantly misrepresented and underdelivered.
Not the biggest fan of how they charge for all the extra sides you’d typically get for free when ordering pho at any other restaurant, but still enjoyed my meal. They serve large bowls, although it’s a bit extra broth for its contents. The beef rolls are a yummy appetizer and the brisket is tasty. Service is fine, they do automatically add 18% minimum service charge to small parties and more for larger parties.
The soup was really delicious, and overall it’s a great place to visit. Perfect for spending time with friends and family in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
