Sign in to reviewPIN is a wonderful thrift store specializing in gently-used but beautiful clothing from across India and Southeast Asia. The People’s Impact Network, or PIN, opened its Plano location just one month ago and is the only store like it in the U.S. Check out the website to learn more about PIN. In sum, in 2020, born from a simple act of compassion that sparked something much greater, a group of ten awesome women launched an initiative called Clothes for Caring. This initiative became PIN. PIN’s mission is to support those in need, promote sustainable fashion and prevent handcrafted garments from ending up in landfills, and fostering a sense of community. By facilitating the reuse of South Asian and ethnic clothing, PIN champions sustainability while funding programs that make a lasting impact. PIN is staffed largely by volunteers. In 2025, PIN donated $66,000 to 19 grant recipients to address needs such as food and housing insecurity, domestic violence, and disaster relief. Between 2022 and 2025, PIN donated over $216,000 to non-profits. If you have a saree you no longer wear, see the website for how to donate pre-loved clothing to PIN. The website also provides links to various Facebook pages such as the Saree Strong Facebook page to purchase online. If you are lucky enough to live near the one and only store in Plano, I highly recommend a visit. The clothing changes all the time. If you are a novice, staff are available to expertly show you how to drape a saree. If you are invited to an Indian wedding and find you have nothing to wear, PIN should be your first stop! The prices are very reasonable, even though most garments are hand embroidered.

Your heart will be happy once you visit this store!! They also have high school and adult volunteer opportunities.
Stopped by People’s Impact Network’s new in-person store and absolutely loved it! They have a fantastic collection of South Asian boutique wear and accessories. The store has been doing amazing work in the community for years, and it feels great knowing that every purchase supports both people and the planet. The clothes are beautifully curated, affordable, and genuinely sustainable. I also love that shopping here helps reduce textile waste while funding local programs. It’s more than just shopping—it’s shopping with purpose. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back!
I was absolutely thrilled to visit the PIN Store! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how gorgeous, colorful, and inviting the space is. The store features a unique and thoughtfully curated collection of pre-loved Indian ethnic clothing and accessories for all ages. I found myself admiring everything, from a stunning silk ghagra and a one-of-a-kind necklace to a lovely cotton saree and an elegant chiffon salwar. Honestly, it was hard to resist wanting to take home the entire collection, especially given how incredibly affordable everything is! A special shoutout to Aparna and Akila, who were so warm and helpful throughout my visit. Their knowledge of fabrics, jewelry, and styling really enhanced the experience. I also had the pleasure of seeing Jyostna patiently helping someone learn how to drape a saree, which added such a personal and meaningful touch. It was inspiring to see the dedicated volunteers working behind the scenes—sorting, folding, and organizing everything so beautifully. Their efforts truly make a difference. I left not only with some wonderful finds but also with a full heart, knowing that my purchase supports meaningful charities and helps promote sustainability and community initiatives. Highly recommend visiting the PIN Store you’ll find something beautiful while contributing to a great cause!
