Plume is a beauty salon at 2038 N Front St in Philadelphia, PA, offering hair services alongside wedding hair and makeup, facials, and locally made goods. With a 4.6-star rating across 135 reviews, the salon has earned praise from customers who value attentive service and results that reflect what they asked for. For anyone looking for a beauty salon in Philadelphia, Plume brings several personal-care options together in one neighborhood location.

Haircuts are a recurring highlight in customer feedback. One guest described getting a curly haircut with stylist Ally and leaving with the shoulder-length cut and style they had requested—an outcome that can matter especially when you have struggled to feel comfortable with a haircut right away. Other reviewers describe long-standing relationships with owner Gillian and the salon team, including one client who has returned for more than a decade. These experiences suggest Plume may suit people seeking a stylist relationship built over time, as well as clients looking for a thoughtful curly haircut.

Plume also provides wedding hair and makeup. A wedding client praised Gill for helping coordinate the initial inquiry, trial, timing, and changes, and for making the process feel comfortable. That kind of planning support may be useful for people organizing beauty services around a wedding, when details and scheduling matter. Reviewers also mention facials and locally made goods at the salon’s larger location, giving visitors additional options beyond hair services. The feedback points to a welcoming setting and a team that many customers find personable, while individual experiences can vary.

The salon is located at 2038 N Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19122. Its listed hours are Wednesday 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m.–8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.–6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–4 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; it is closed Monday and Tuesday. One reviewer raised concerns about management’s response to a service issue, so prospective clients may want to discuss expectations and any questions directly when booking. For curly cuts, wedding hair and makeup, facials, or a salon visit that also includes locally made goods, Plume is a Philadelphia option to consider.

I got a curly hair cut from Ally and it was great! I always ask for my hair to be cut to shoulder length and most times I get my hair cut I feel like I have to wait months to like the length and style. After this cut I walked out feeling like I got exactly what I asked for! I wish that the salon had more specific curly hair products for styling on the way out but I was very happy with the end result. I will be coming back for a curly cut here!

I went to Plume for my wedding hair and make up and had a wonderful experience. From the initial email inquiring about salon services, I was in touch with Gill (the owner) who was super accommodating with setting up a trial/time/making changes/etc. Gill made me feel comfortable the whole time, and eased my worries when I was concerned about not feeling like myself on my wedding day. She did a fantastic job and the vibes of the salon were so perfect for a nice zen moment before the evenings chaos! Would recommend to anyone.

I’ve been coming to Plume for over a decade. Gillian, the owner, and all the women who work there are so welcoming and lovely. The services are top notch and reasonably priced. And since they moved to a bigger location, they’ve even offer facials and carry locally made goods now. I can get my hair done and shop for gifts! Love it!

I’ve been going to Gill for 8 years, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. When I first moved here, the salon she worked at was right by my apartment—I gave it a try and never looked back. It’s been amazing to watch her grow from a …

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM MANAGEMENT. I didnt want to leave this review, as I first attempted to resolve the issue directly with the salon. There was little willingness to work toward a solution, and my messages were eventually ignored. My concern is not with the hairstylist personally, but with the management and overall customer service experience. I paid $75 for a layered haircut intended to add volume and $50 to tone down the color on the ends of my hair. While everything appeared fine immediately after the appointment, once I styled my hair myself at home, I noticed very little difference from before. Then after washing my hair just two days later, the color had returned to the same orange shade, making it seem as though i never toned it. What makes this even more disappointing is that when booking my appointment, I specifically explained my previous negative experiences with salons that lacked experience working with curly hair. I clearly stated that I wanted someone knowledgeable about curly hair and understood my concerns. Unfortunately, my experience reinforced the very issues I was trying to avoid. Because I do not live in Philadelphia, returning to the salon was not an option. I reached out hoping to find a reasonable solution, but my concerns were dismissed, and further communication was ignored. The lack of responsiveness and customer care is unwelcoming and frankly disrespectful.
