Customer feedback particularly points to experience with German vehicles, including BMW and Mercedes-Benz models. Several reviewers specifically mention Jim and describe him as knowledgeable, honest, communicative, and efficient when their vehicles needed attention. One BMW owner shared that the shop helped after white smoke appeared from the hood, while another said they trusted Precision Auto Care with BMW concerns over time. For Richardson drivers seeking an auto repair shop familiar with German-car issues, these firsthand accounts may be especially relevant.
Reviews also describe work related to brake replacement, vehicle concerns that other shops had not identified, and a Mercedes-Benz moonroof that would not close. A customer reported being referred to Precision Auto Care after receiving much higher estimates and longer turnaround expectations elsewhere for that moonroof issue. Another reviewer said that after bringing in a vehicle with an ongoing problem, they received it back the next day and felt a noticeable improvement. These experiences suggest that the shop may be a practical choice for drivers who want to discuss a specific repair concern directly and understand the next steps for their car.
The atmosphere reflected in positive reviews is personal and straightforward rather than impersonal: customers often refer to direct communication with Jim and value updates during the repair process. That can make Precision Auto Care a fitting option for commuters, nearby residents, and owners of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or other vehicles who prefer a local Richardson, Texas auto repair shop. As with any vehicle repair, it is sensible to explain the symptoms, requested service, and vehicle details when contacting the shop so the team can help determine the appropriate diagnosis or repair. Customer experiences vary, including one review that reported unresolved brake-noise concerns, so clear communication about expectations and follow-up needs remains important.

Sign in to reviewI brought my car in for a simple brake replacement, and this shop has caused me nothing but problems since. After the brakes were replaced, they kept squeaking, so I brought my car back like they told me to. The owner claimed he “didn’t hear anything,” so nothing was fixed. When I picked up my car, my headlight was busted — something that was absolutely not damaged when I dropped it off. Instead of taking responsibility, he tried to tell me it was already like that. On top of that, my dashboard is now showing a lamp malfunction sensor, something that has never appeared before this visit. I trusted them with my car, and it came back with more issues than it went in with. Extremely unprofessional, dishonest, and careless. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Thank you for replying, but I need to correct several things you stated because they are simply not true. 1. No voicemail was ever left for me or my brother. At no point did I receive a call or a message about my headlight being “already cracked” or full of water. The first and only time this was mentioned was in person, when I came to pick up my car. The owner looked at me and said, “By the way, your headlight is broken and water is getting inside. That’ll be about $1,500 to fix—call your insurance.” That was the first I heard of it. When I told him it was NOT like that when I dropped it off, he tried to convince me otherwise. 2. My dashboard light did NOT show any issues until after I left your shop. The “lamp malfunction” warning came on immediately once I drove away. If this was supposedly a pre-existing issue, the warning would’ve been there when I brought the car in. It wasn’t. 3. The brake issue was never resolved. I brought my car back specifically because the brakes were squeaking right after the job was completed. I was told “I don’t hear anything,” and nothing was fixed, even though the noise was clearly happening. I understand shops want to protect themselves, but rewriting the situation and adding details that never happened (like a voicemail) is not honest. I’m only sharing my actual experience so other customers know what to expect.
If you have a German car that needs work done, Jim is THE man you need to go to. He is honest, knowledgeable, and fast. I was pulling into Torchy's parking lot when suddenly white smoke started coming out of my BMW 540i's hood. At that moment, I knew that it was a coolant gasket problem. Jim's shop was the nearest German auto shop so I pulled in. Jim greeted me and took the car on the spot. He confirmed my assumption that there was a problem with the valley pan coolant gasket. That's when I knew he was legit. He gave me a reasonable quote and followed through upon delivery the next day. I could have not asked for a better experience. Jim is a knowledgeable (master technician at MB Plano for MANY years!) and honest guy that owns a great shop. I will be coming back in the future, and I'm sure you will be too.
I knew I was in for trouble when the moonroof on my Mercedes CLA250 wouldn't close. I called the dealer as well as several repair shops who quoted $3000 to $5000, along with a week's worth of turnaround time. Through word-of-mouth, I was referred to Jim and Precision Auto Care. When I called, I was so stressed about the cost and being without my car, I cried. Jim was kind and empathetic, and suggested bringing the car over to his shop. Jim did a thorough check and provided a detailed account of exactly what needed to be done, parts that would be required for repair, and most important - a reasonable cost. I would also have the car back by the end of the day. Jim kept me apprised of progress and I felt secure leaving the car in his capable hands. Not only is his work exemplary, but he showed me the broken parts so I was aware what he had replaced. This is not typical. I encourage anyone owning a Mercedes or other German vehicle to visit Jim for an exceptional experience.
Jim is an honest mechanic that I trusted with my BMW anytime there was a problem. He’d take care of it, communicate with me the whole time, and offered fair prices. Highly recommended for anyone who has a German car and needs a reliable mechanic.
I had been having issues with my car for a while but every mechanic told me my car was totally fine. After getting an oil change, the problem became worse. I googled auto shops and Precision Auto Care was the one my gut told me to go for. Took it in yesterday and got it back today and it feels like a different, better car! Jim was so kind, quickly knew the issue and was able to get the job done quickly, efficiently and at a reasonable, honest cost.
