Quan Com Binh Dan is a neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at 1110 Washington Ave #2b, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Its appeal, according to customer feedback, is straightforward: familiar Vietnamese food, affordable prices, generous portions, and a welcoming, home-style feel. Diners describe a clean, casual place where locals stop in for a meal or pick up food to go. If you are looking for an unpretentious spot rather than a polished dining room, this Washington Avenue restaurant may be a useful addition to your Philadelphia food search.

Banh mi is one of the dishes that comes up repeatedly in reviews. Customers have praised the sandwiches for their quality and value, with several reviewers reporting a price of $5 at the time of their visit. Prices can change, so it is worth checking directly before ordering. Reviews also mention a menu that includes Vietnamese noodle soup, including Bun Bo Hue, as well as vegetarian options. In addition to the menu, one customer noted daily home-cooked dishes displayed at the front, giving diners another way to choose what sounds good that day.

The experience sounds especially suited to people who prioritize a satisfying meal and reasonable cost over elaborate ambiance. Reviewers describe friendly staff, substantial portions, and a homely atmosphere, with neighborhood customers creating a relaxed local feel. Some mention that the restaurant is a good under-the-radar find for Vietnamese food in Philadelphia. It may work well for a quick lunch, an easy takeout order, or anyone curious to try a casual Vietnamese spot near Washington Avenue. The setting is informal, so expectations are best centered on the food and value rather than decor.

Customer experiences are not identical, and the reviews offer useful context. While many praise the food, freshness, and affordability, one reviewer reported receiving a meat version after ordering vegetarian Bun Bo Hue and was disappointed by the broth and meat. Another raised a concern about the amount of MSG in a meal. These are individual reports, not a guarantee of what every visit will be like, but guests with dietary requirements or particular ingredient preferences may want to confirm details with staff when ordering. Clear communication can help make sure the dish matches your request.

Quan Com Binh Dan is listed with a 4.5-star rating from 42 reviews and is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday. That schedule can suit both an early meal and a daytime stop for a sandwich or takeout. For diners exploring Vietnamese restaurants in Philadelphia, the combination of banh mi, noodle soup, daily home-cooked selections, and reported budget-friendly pricing makes it a practical local option. Check current hours, prices, and menu availability directly before making a special trip, especially if you have a specific dish or dietary need in mind.

Too much MSG; even after after 11 hrs later, the msg is still on my mouth! I ordered their banh mi and vegetarian Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodles soup) and $5 banh mi. Came home, realized they gave me the meat version. The meat was tough, the broth lacked flavor & fragrant which Bun Bo Hue known for. The Cha got too much flour filler in it that it was also tough to eat. I threw that out after 1 bite. The $5 banh mi was why I wanted to try this place. It was decent but it’s not something to sing about. I will not I come back here again. Pho Today next door is better. Better service, better quality food. The lady was being sarcastic when I came early to pick up my food after I ordered. Look at the photo, it was empty so bad service too.

Clean, very affordable, and homely Vietnamese place. Has daily home-cooked food in the front aside from food in the menu. This is the first time I post pictures with my reviews but I do think more people should come support this place like it deserves. Owner very nice & tries to make food hot for diners. I don't see any dirt or insects like other reviews say there is. It's pretty clean actually. Ate an entire day worth of food here and no stomach discomfort whatsoever, compared to many other places. The food below (somewhat eaten sorry lol) is only $44. This food is the portion of 2 people in other places & should cost much more. I regret that I can't try other dishes but will return in the near future for sure.
