If you are comparing independent repair options in Philadelphia, Reds & Son is a local shop to consider for a conversation about your vehicle’s symptoms and the work it may need.

Several reviewers highlight careful diagnosis and straightforward communication. One customer said the team took time to identify the cause of a problem rather than immediately replacing parts, and described the repair as quick and fairly priced. Other reviews praise the staff for being understanding and helpful, including a traveler whose car developed an alternator issue while passing through town. The reviewer said the team completed the work the same day, helping them continue their trip. These are individual customer experiences, but they offer a useful picture of the service some visitors have received.

Reviews also mention work on a coolant leak in a Land Rover Velar and concerns about brakes. One customer wrote that they felt more comfortable bringing their vehicle to Reds & Son than taking it to a dealership. The shop may be worth contacting if you have a specific concern and want to ask whether it can inspect your vehicle. Experiences are not uniform: another reviewer praised the work on a family member’s car but later raised a concern about how an alternator had been secured. For that reason, ask questions, discuss the proposed repair, and clarify what work was completed before you leave.

Red & Son’s Auto Repair is the kind of shop you hope to find but rarely do. Honest, reliable, and they really know what they’re doing. They took the time to properly diagnose the issue instead of just throwing parts at it, and the repair was done quickly and at a fair price. No upselling, no runaround—just solid work and great service. My car is running perfectly now. Highly recommend them if you want a mechanic you can actually trust.

Traveled from Missouri when we had issues with our alternator. The staff, especially Lexi, were so understanding of our situation and got our car taken care of in the same day so we could be back on our way. We received amazing service and would definitely recommend them.

I was worried for weeks about a coolant leak in my Land Rover Velar and was very nervous about taking it to the dealership. I found Red & Sons when I searched for a certified Land Rover and foreign car mechanic in Philly and they DELIVERED exceptional service! I also gained intel from the front desk associate about why this is a common problem with Range Rovers- info that the dealership will never share. I am so grateful for this service that was done in a day and saved me hundreds of dollars!

They did some work on my mother's car. They did a good job but the labor rate was a bit high (that near downtown location can't be cheap for a indepenedent shop though) Edit: Boy was I wrong - They used a ziptie to secure the alternator on my mother's car, which my brother in law discovered when he was going to replace the belt because it was having issues after they supposedly fixed it (they didn't replace the top bolt and the zip tie they used loosened up)
