Wonderful experience. We happened to go on a day there was a market and a plant sale as the garden was free. There is also free parking and a 5 minute walk up to the gate. But the way is beautiful along the way. There's a gift shop with indoor plants and lots of nice items and books. Then theres a green house and with lots of exotic plants. If you go on the trails its such a magical experience even without the rhodies in bloom. So many paths to take and explore and so many different species to learn about. Its such a well maintained garden I would have gladly paid the entry fee to get in normally. Not dog friendly so leave your pets at home for this trip. But absolutely worth it. Afterwards check out the Pacic Bonsai Museum next door! Was about an 1- 1.5 hours of casually strolling around the garden.

Admission fee was $12 per person. Inside, there were beautifully maintained flowers, trees, and flowering plants, all connected like a maze. There were also clusters of small booths where young artists were selling their handmade crafts, and food trucks were scattered throughout the area. It wasn’t bad at all, but it’s not a very large botanical garden. I’m not sure it was worth the $12 entry fee. If you’re just visiting the Bonsai Museum, it might actually be free to enter.

First time visiting this garden on 04/19/2026. I’ve been to the bonsai garden three times before, but I had never really paid attention to the rhododendron garden. It turns out I was completely wrong to overlook it. I’ve never seen so many varieties of rhododendrons in my life—from China, India, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and many other regions. Each one has its own unique beauty and character, and together they create an incredibly rich and vibrant landscape. I originally planned to stay for about 30 minutes, but ended up staying for 2 hours. I could have easily stayed even longer if I didn’t have lunch plans with friends. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area—give yourself at least half a day to slowly walk through the garden and the surrounding areas.

My friend and I visited on Saturday during the Blue Poppy festival. We enjoyed a leisurely walk along the paths in the garden. We refreshed with a delicious lunch at the Greek Gyro truck. We also enjoyed purchasing plants from the large selection. It was also a pleasure to purchase from the garden and nature artists.

How have I lived here for so long and not known about this place. Definitely a gem. A free bonsai exhibit and a separate area (need to pay for this part) that has green houses, trails, benches and an area with rhododendrons for purchase. A must see for any outdoor enthusiast or just for a peaceful afternoon.
