Donuts are at the center of the menu, and customer feedback points to an assortment prepared in moderate batches. The shop's morning-focused hours and changing availability give it the feel of a neighborhood place where an early visit may offer the widest selection.
Beyond donuts, Ros Donuts serves sandwiches that make it relevant for breakfast and lunch as well. Customers have specifically mentioned enjoying a turkey and cheese sandwich, while a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich was described as generously portioned, with a soft, flaky croissant. Iced coffee is also available, with a ready-to-go option that can be served over ice. These choices make the shop worth considering for someone who wants more than a sweet pastry, whether they are picking up food to take away or stopping in while running errands around San Lorenzo.
The atmosphere at Ros Donuts appears practical, friendly, and centered on a quick neighborhood visit rather than a long sit-down meal. Reviews mention pleasant interactions with the staff, and the food is well suited to people on an early schedule, local workers, families grabbing a box of donuts, and anyone looking for a casual sandwich in San Lorenzo, CA. Because selection may vary later in the morning, planning an earlier visit is a sensible way to experience the shop's donuts, croissants, sandwiches, and iced coffee at their broadest availability. Sign in to review**Review of Ros Donut Shop** I typically don’t write reviews, but my recent experience at Ros Donut Shop compelled me to share my thoughts. I've visited this place before for their delicious sandwiches, which I truly enjoy. However, my visit today was overshadowed by a disappointing encounter with the service. We ordered a cold egg and ham croissant, which wasn’t warmed up, nor were we asked if we wanted it hot. When my order number was called, I approached the counter to inquire if the number was indicated anywhere on the receipt. To my surprise, the staff responded in a passive-aggressive tone, telling me not to look at the receipt. When I politely asked where I could find the order number, I felt overwhelmed as three ladies behind the counter became aggressive towards me. The atmosphere was anything but welcoming, and I felt ganged up on over a simple question. It's disheartening, especially given how generous the shop can be. While I appreciate their offerings, the customer service needs significant improvement to create a more pleasant experience for patrons. I hope they can address these issues, as I would love to enjoy my visits without the unsettling feeling that accompanied this one.
I was in the area and stopped here to get a sandwich for lunch. I got a turkey and cheese sandwich. I love that they had iced coffee ready in the fridge, they just add the ice for you. The woman that made my sandwich and the woman that rang me up were both really nice. I got it to go. It was really good and really filling. I was pleasantly surprised to see they gave me a free donut as well! Will be back when I’m in the area again
TLDR version: this place has great stuff in moderate size batches, so get here early or you may end up missing out. My go to doughnut place. This is the second time I've been in (first was a week ago). I came in around 11 am to find all the croissants and most doughnuts gone) but I find this to be common if the location focuses on quality over quantity. Today I went at 7 am and wasn't surprised to find it as busy as the other day suggested (lines would form quickly). I was able to get the items I wanted though, and was very happy with my choices. The croissant doughnut and old fashioned (not pictured) were very generously glazed, so be sure to have coffee, tea or some drink to go with them! Croissant sandwich had fresh, fluffy scrambled eggs and the bacon was crisp but not burnt, making the texture pop from within the freshly baked croissant. Cinnamon twist, crumb, and chocolate glaze had a puffy texture and had a moderate glaze, a great choice if you want a bit lighter option.
Well that was a waste of $5.00. Burnt & barely any cream cheese. Took a bite and had to toss it in the trash.
My friend got sausage egg cheese croissant sandwich. Very nice big portions. Cost was about $11. Croissant was nice, soft and flaky. Donut was decent, and fresh.
