The restaurant has a 4.2-star rating from 706 reviews, offering local diners a useful snapshot of what guests have experienced while recognizing that individual dishes and visits can vary.

Seafood is a natural focus here, and one reviewer called the crispy lobster delicious, while also praising tender beef and fresh salad. Another highlighted clay pot catfish with pork, describing how the flavors complement one another. Guests have also mentioned fried chicken as a standout. Reviews describe food as boldly flavored and nicely presented, and some diners appreciate that dishes arrive freshly cooked without tasting too salty or too sweet. As with any broad menu, experiences are not identical: one guest found the beef chewy and the fried rice undercooked. Checking in about a dish or preparation preference when ordering can help set expectations.

The dining experience has received positive notes for quick service, courteous staff, and attentive care. One customer appreciated the patience shown when placing a unique order, while another said the waiter looked after both their table and nearby customers. Reviewers have described the space as clean, though feedback on the decor and washrooms is less favorable, so expectations about the setting may differ from the appeal of the food. Overall, comments suggest a casual neighborhood meal where warm interactions and satisfying flavors can be part of the visit, alongside occasional differences in service or dish execution.

Saigon Seafood may suit Dorchester residents, seafood fans, and groups looking for Vietnamese restaurant choices along Adams Street. Its mix of seafood, meat, rice, and clay pot dishes gives diners several directions to explore, whether they are sharing a meal or choosing individual plates. A reviewer noted that the restaurant was popular on a late Friday visit and that it stayed open later than some nearby options, but current hours are not listed here, so confirm directly before planning a late meal. Parking can also take extra thought: one guest found the busy, narrow road challenging and suggested looking on a side street about a block away. One of many Vietnamese restaurants in Dorchester, Boston. For food some dishes are good but a couple are below average. The fried chicken was excellent but beef was quite chewy. Fried rice was undercooked (the rice was not soft). The service was ok. Decors and washrooms could use major improvements.

I had the most exceptional experience. I had the pleasure of speaking to some awesome people. That didn’t get upset with my unique order. The courtesy and patience, was above and beyond. The young man that delivered my food. Made my day. Needless to say, the food is always delicious.

The restaurant was pretty popular on a late Friday night, they are open pretty late for the area. Parking can be tough with the road busy and the narrow road, it's best to park on the side street a block away. Service was average. The clay pot with catfish and pork really complements the sweet and sour catfish soup. Please be aware the fish have small bones inside, it's normal. The caramelized sauce in the clay pot has really good flavor, it comes with a good amount of meat. The sweet and sour soup was delicious too and was nice to pour over rice. The shrimp with walnut is one of my favorites and has a really nice mayo sauce. This is probably one of the better places that makes this style of lobster. The restaurant cuts the lobster in an easy way to pull out the meat.
