Sign in to reviewI adore this space for seniors. The staff is super helpful and the amount of activities they have is incredible and very diverse. It’s a great place for our special community and it’s always a pleasure to visit.
UPDATE Sep 2021. Second visit this time for lunch special on National Ice Cream Cone Day. Yummy! I posted a few new photos of the activity going on. JULY 2021: This is a great place for seasoned citizens to visit and enjoy the amenities. Check the website for details. I posted a number of photos to give you an idea of the layout. Before the virus crises it was a place to stop by for lunch. The center is trying to get back to the way it was on meals. Call for details right now. The center has been remodeled and it looks great. It was renamed to Sam Johnson Center in honor of long term US Representative for the Plano area and champion for seasoned citizens. He was a Vietnam-era Air Force pilot who spent many years as a POW.
The Gazebo cafe in this place is completely overrated and a bit deceptive using health related facilities to proje t some kind of health benefit from the cafe. They also write their menu to look like it is bulkier than what you get. As a nonprofit, the city is subsidizing this and maybe other facilities by cashflow from the cafe.
My wife was scheduled for a tea on 2:12 but she fell in the house and nearly broke her leg. She called but was told she could not get a refund. I thought you were there to serve the community. The person on the phone even said I hope you have a great day!! Really???
This place is very nice especially after their renovation a few years ago. They just added a library kiosk. I wish there was a indoor pool with a water slide. But not much to gripe over especially considering the ridiculously low annual fee.
