Located at 1204 E 4th St, Santa Ana, CA 92701, this shop serves the community with weekday hours that fit many work schedules, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. With a 4.4 rating based on 28 reviews, Santa Fe Auto Repair has built a reputation that reflects both solid customer experiences and the real-world expectations people bring when they need their car checked, repaired, or diagnosed.

What many customers notice first is the way they are treated. Reviews describe a warm front-desk welcome, staff who are polite and professional, and a process that can feel more personal than rushed. One customer shared that after calling for an A/C recharge quote, they arrived just minutes later and were greeted by name before service began. That kind of attention helps create the feeling that this Santa Ana shop values clear communication and customer care, not just the repair itself. Another reviewer simply called the experience amazing and professional, which matches the overall impression of a business focused on straightforward service.

Based on customer feedback, Santa Fe Auto Repair is a good place to consider for issues such as air conditioning service, check engine light diagnosis, and general repairs on both everyday and older vehicles. One review mentions help with an older Montero, including air conditioner repair and work that helped the vehicle move closer to passing smog-related needs. While every car problem is different, these examples suggest a shop that customers turn to for practical problem-solving rather than quick guesswork. For local drivers in Santa Ana, California, that matters when comfort, reliability, and cost-conscious decision-making are all part of the equation.

The atmosphere seems best suited to people who want a neighborhood mechanic experience with a professional tone. Whether you are dropping off a car before work, trying to understand a warning light, or hoping to fix an A/C system before hot weather gets worse, this auto repair shop offers a familiar local choice in central Santa Ana. Reviews also show that experiences can vary, which is normal for repair work, but the recurring themes of kindness, professionalism, and repeat recommendations stand out. For drivers who prefer a shop with weekday availability, a convenient East 4th Street location, and service that many customers describe as attentive, Santa Fe Auto Repair remains a trusted name to know in Santa Ana, CA.

I contacted Santa Fe Auto Repair earlier today for an AC recharge quote. Hands down the best experience I've had visiting a mechanic shop. I arrived there 5 mins after calling the shop and was warmly invited by staff by my name to fill out paper work before the service. I was introduced to Jose who was welcoming and professional. He was able to service my car quickly and efficiently. It is difficult to find a local honest mechanic that cares for its customers. I witnessed the business acumen and overall culture of the company and its staff. Being in corporate customer service for over 10 years it is great to witness a business doing right by their customers and winning their business. If you are looking for a mechanic that cares about its customer come to Santa Fe Auto!!

Lady at the front desk was very kind. Charged $65 just to use their check engine light machine, when i already used my personal one to discover my cars issue. Dropped my car off and they said my car would be done the next day. Called before they closed the next day wondering what was going on to find out it was going to be another day. That wouldn't have been an issue if they could've called and told me that earlier. Cost me another day of work. Had more issues on my car i needed to address but will be going elsewhere.

My friend and owner of Hills Garage, Paco. sent me over to Santa Fe Auto Repair to see if Luis, its owner, might be able to get my older Montero to pass smog and to repair its air conditioner. Like Paco, Luis knows he craft. He was able to find a new button for my switch and was able to get my air conditioning going again. Luis was also able to repair my car to finally pass smog. Paco, at Hills, and Luis at Santa Fe, are old school, meaning you deal with the owner, both of whom has decades of experience, fair and above board. When I need air conditioning work or smog work, I'll bring my cars back to Luis. He's easy to work with and cares about his customers. Next time you need auto work consider Santa Fe Auto Repair, or Hills Garage, just up the street.
