Scripps Clinic Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology Center

Great experience with Dr. Ross and Vera. Dr. Ross knew exactly what I needed to correct the sun damage on my chest and arms. Dr. Ross was very pleasant and Vera was kind and attentive.

AMBER IS AN AMAZING EMPLOYEE. Numbed me very well , and was very sweet and nice . My dermatologist did an amazing job. One session in , 7 days out, and I’ve seen results already. My hair is just now starting to grow back (2 months out ). As someone who’s gotten painful abscesses and could never shave my entire life (maybe once a month at best with no pain) I can saw their lasers really work. Pleasant experiences ! Second session now

This office is a scam. I called to ask to book a consultation for laser treatment of my acne scars and hyperpigmentation. The person over the phone told me that I should be seen by a medical dermatologist at Scripps first, then I can be referred for laser treatment. This is important later: He specified that I should see someone at Scripps. I found it strange, since most cosmetic offices don't require this. I asked why, and the agent told me that it's to "see if they can cover some of these treatments through insurance." I told them that I had recently seen a medical dermatologist outside of Scripps and asked if they can send the referral. The agent hesitated and said yes. I then probed further and asked what types of procedures are typically covered by insurance. He said that acne scars are typically not covered, which has been my experience. If that's the case, why are you pushing me to see a Scripps medical dermatologist, when it wouldn't be covered under insurance anyway? When I asked these questions, he said that it's because medical dermatologists would be able to "treat acne" that a cosmetic office may not be able to. While this is fair, I made it very clear FROM THE BEGINNING that I wanted to treat my acne SCARS and hyperpigmentation. I never said that I have active acne, because I no longer do! Had he asked me this before pushing me to see their dermatologists, I would have been able to tell him this. Perhaps this wasn't intentional, but my impression is that they're trying to drum up business and billing for their medical dermatology side. While I believe many can benefit from seeing a medical dermatologist, an extra visit for me is not necessary since I've been under the care of an excellent medical dermatologist for a long time, and my last visit was in May of this past year (I had also told him this). If I'm going to be paying out of pocket prices anyway, I would rather go outside of Scripps.

I recently had photodynamic therapy on my face for 2 pre-cancer spots. Tannah was so competent and kind. Enjoyed working with her and highly recommend her.

I come here for Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) issues - the staff are all GREAT. From the front desk, to the folks who schedule my appts (josh/stephanie), to the nurses who assist with my treatments. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Thank you Bri Wischnack and Aneesah!!
