At its Solano Avenue address, visitors can order at the counter, then spend time with a drink rather than making every visit purely grab-and-go. Reviews describe a clean, organized space where baristas remain welcoming even when the counter is busy. Good music and Wi-Fi add to its easygoing, sit-and-sip character, whether visitors arrive alone or meet someone nearby.
Coffee is the focus, with both regular lattes and drinks built around rotating seasonal flavors. The ube latte is the most frequently praised choice in customer comments, described as especially tasty alongside a standard latte; guests who prefer a less-sweet drink may want to request reduced sweetness. Another reviewer recommends the wintertime Sweater Weather latte. The menu also includes baked goods, a breakfast sandwich that has earned enthusiastic feedback, and Boichik bagels. Shoppers looking for whole coffee beans can stop in to browse bags and their tasting notes before taking coffee home. These recommendations reflect individual customer experiences, so personal tastes and preferred sweetness levels may differ.
This Berkeley coffee shop suits commuters before work, neighbors on a Solano Avenue walk, coffee fans searching for seasonal drinks, and remote workers wanting Wi-Fi with their cup. It is also a practical choice for a simple breakfast, with the breakfast sandwich and bagel options giving visitors something more substantial than a pastry. The small footprint is part of the experience: the cafe feels intimate rather than sprawling, and its soundtrack and friendly interactions give it a relaxed local feel. The reported setting can work equally well for a short reset between appointments or a longer stop to read, work, and sip. Bring a friend for a casual catch-up, or take a quiet seat when you want an unhurried coffee break.

Sign in to reviewI am only docking off a point because Signal could definitely hire more people. The one barista on shift at the moment, was truly knocking out the long lines forming. Did not skimp on the quality of the coffee either. They were kind to all customers and kept their area clean and organized even with the mountain of people ordering. Huge shout out to the barista! They deserve a raise after what they have to endure.
Super friendly staff! The ube latte is as good as everyone says, and the breakfast sandwich is simply incredible. They play good music & have WiFi, a great spot to sit and sip.
Awesome, small cafe. Great selection of beverages with seasonal flavors, plus some great baked goods. I highly recommend the Sweater Weather (winter time latte) and a Boichik bagel. Friendly staff, too!
We got one ube latte and one regular latte. They both taste great. Especially ube I would highly recommend. Don’t forget to reduce sweetness to half, otherwise could be so sweet. Though lattes a bit pricy :(
Came for a new bag of whole beans. I thought the placement of the bags was horrible because it is between where you would order and pick up. I think this led to the staff being very rude about asking me to move while I was looking for the tasting notes. When I did order, I had to ask if she could ring up the bag which made it seem like she did not understand why I was standing where I was in the first place. Cold brew was good. Beans were good. Just nervous to go back.
