Song La

This small, family-run food truck serves up delicious Taiwanese street food. We tried the Pork Chop Bento, Braised Pork Belly Bento, and Chicken Bites, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The chicken bites are a must-order—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned with classic Taiwanese spices and fried basil. The bentos are hearty, satisfying, and come with a great variety of sides that make it a complete meal. Beyond the amazing food, the lady running the truck is extremely nice and welcoming. Her kindness and passion for what she does make the whole experience even better. You can really feel the family-run atmosphere and the care that goes into every dish. If you’re looking for authentic Taiwanese food in Austin or want to try something beyond the usual options, Song La is definitely worth a visit. Great food, great service, and a wonderful local spot that deserves more love!

We recently moved to Austin and drove almost an hour just to have some Taiwanese food. We ordered the chicken bites, pork chop box, and tofu chi— everything tasted just like Taiwan. It’s been a long time since we’ve been back, so this meal really helped cure a bit of homesickness. Taiwanese fried food truly is the best!

This is a rare Taiwanese food truck, so I was excited to give it a try. The food was fine overall, and they had a nice variety of choices. As for authenticity, I would say it’s close enough. The flavors reminded me of Taiwanese food I grew up with, but I did find everything to be a bit on the bland and mild side. The price also felt a little high for what I got, but I still appreciate having a Taiwanese food option like this around. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I’m glad I tried it.

Amazing food! This is my favorite place in all of Austin truly. I’ve been coming here for years now and if you’re actually a local you know this place is amazing. I’ve recommended this place to so many people and they all come back with amazing experiences. From the chicken bites (my favorite), to the braised pork belly and all in between is amazing. A must try!!! The chili oil is so one of a kind and I buy it bulk! Someone is posting one star reviews and trying to tarnish Song La and other Asian restaurants. If you look at their profile, they’re posting bad reviews on everything that’s not KFC lmao. Let’s wash this review out and show up as a community with Song La!

We live in north Austin and drive 30 min for Song La! The food is amazing and portions are huge. Our picky toddlers devour the braised pork belly rice and crispy pork, and even take a few bites of the veggies which is always a win. We always order online for pickup but eat there if the weather is nice. The owner gave us a mosquito repellent fan when she noticed us swatting flies which was so thoughtful. Highly recommend for authentic Taiwanese food!
