Soo Ja Seolleongtang is a comforting Korean restaurant in Fremont, CA, known for warm, traditional beef soups and homestyle Korean dishes served in a casual setting. Located at 6052 Stevenson Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538, it has become a local stop for diners who want something hearty, straightforward, and deeply satisfying. With a 4.5-star rating from 93 reviews, the restaurant has earned steady praise from guests looking for rich broths, tender beef, and food that feels restorative without being overly complicated.

The dish many customers talk about first is galbi tang, a Korean beef rib soup that arrives hot from the kitchen and is often described as one of the strongest reasons to visit. Guests also mention seolleongtang, including the mixed seolleongtang, as a signature choice for anyone who enjoys a clean, traditional beef broth. The soup style is intentionally simple, with seasoning left to the diner, so each bowl can be adjusted with salt and pepper to personal taste. That hands-on detail is part of the appeal for people who appreciate authentic Korean soup culture.

Beyond soup, Soo Ja Seolleongtang offers several dishes that round out the menu for different cravings. Reviewers point to naengmyun and spicy cold noodles as satisfying options, especially for those wanting something refreshing and chewy. The beef bulgogi and hot stone bibimbap are also mentioned by families and regulars, while tofu options make the menu more flexible for diners who may not want beef in every dish. Side dishes have been noted as improved by repeat guests, and alcohol is available for those who like pairing a drink with a hot bowl of soup.

The atmosphere is best suited for people who appreciate practical comfort over flash: hot food, friendly service, and a focus on the bowl in front of you. Customers describe the owner and team as nice and welcoming, and several reviews emphasize returning after a first visit because the food hit the spot during a craving or on a day when they needed something warm. It is a strong fit for solo lunches, casual meals with family, or anyone in Fremont searching for Korean beef soup, galbi tang, seolleongtang, or cold noodles near Stevenson Boulevard.

Hours are especially lunch-friendly during the week, with service Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The galbi tang is the best in Fremont hands down, the modem seolleong tang and the naengmyun is also good! As a Korean I endorse this place for the soup, 100%. The side dishes has also much improved from the last time and they finally sell alcohol which is great with the soup. When your stressed, a nice hot soup is best for the soul. Cheers!

They are mainly known for Korean beef dishes with several options for tofu instead. My son enjoyed the beef bulgogi dish, but not enough rice according to him. My wife thinks their hot stone bebimbop is delicious 😋. I ordered their well known specialty Galbi Tang (Korean Beef 🍖 Rib Stew), which is served boiling hot. Each of our dishes was served with rice and banchan (including Kimchi, pickled radish/vegetables).

Very traditional Korean Beef Soup, no seasoning, we need to add salt and pepper by ourselves. They cook the soup very well! I even ordered 1 more soup to go. I will definitely come back for it. And the owner is so nice and friendly, excellent customer services!

I first came here when I was extremely ill and badly wanted a hearty and warm beef soup. I always have the tendency to burn my mouth and they bring it straight from the stove nice and hot, make sure to blow unlike me. I’m glad I stopped by because I kept going ever since then! They always give out free yakult for each paying customer! You can ask for barley tea by request~
