Sign in to reviewSouthie has the coziest local vibe—walking in feels like stepping up to your own kitchen counter. Super casual, we seated ourselves and soaked in the relaxed atmosphere. The menu is minimal, but don’t let that fool you. Everything on it is absolutely stellar. I ordered the poached eggs with bacon over a salad, and my husband went for the breakfast burrito. We consider ourselves breakfast burrito connoisseurs, and this one ranks among the best we’ve had. It skips the potatoes, which some will appreciate (though I do love a good California burrito loaded with fries). We shared bites of each other’s dishes and both were delicious. The vibe here is totally unpretentious, but the food tells a different story—it’s crafted with real care. And just like being at home, they had wine on tap, so I strolled over to the counter and treated myself to a glass. Highly recommend. Whether it’s a casual workday stop or a lazy weekend morning, I’d happily come back.
The service was stellar. Haven't had such friendly and attentive service in quite awhile. The food was very good. We ordered Duck liver pate crostini and Roasted beet and goat cheese crostini. Seared ahi tuna salad, fried chicken cutlet, beef & pork meatballs, grana polenta and warm ginger cake with roasted pears, vanella-pear brandy anglaise to end a great meal.
Had the Italian style sandwich here..... Really solid sandwich. What really got me though is the cook gave me this fantastic in-house made habanero sauce then I just ended up dunking over every bite I was absolutely in love with it. Really cool to sit at the counter and watch them cook, chef was such a friendly dude and the server as well! Really enjoyed the vibe of just hanging out and eating my meal
I honestly forgot how good this spot is for dinner. Known more for their sandwiches for lunch. Next to their big brother Wood Tavern, this a more causal dining experience. Quality is just as good. We got the tuna salsa, a pasta dish and sea bass entree. Everything was exceptional. Service and wine were as great.
its a really nice little place in a cool area. we got 4 things. 1) Breakfast burrito 2) Chicken sandwich 3) Bacon Sandwich 4) meatball sub Get the meatballs if you go here. They were the best thing we got, and it wasn't even close. The burrito and potatoes were under seasoned, but they have salt on the table so you can adjust it yourself. Both sandwiches were pretty good. The staff was great, parking is pretty easy which was a surprise.
