Sign in to reviewI was a patient there three years ago but switched when they tried to talk me into having a very expensive treatment through another dentist in Chula Vista. Dr Shah as well as this other dentist (forgot the name) told me I needed laser treatment ($5,000) for my gums. I switched to another dentist and after my initial exam there I told them what Spring Valley Family Health Dental said about about laser treatment (I believe it's called LANAP). My new dentist roared laughing and thought I was joking. I told her this was not a joke and she calmly explained to me I was in good shape and absolutely did not need anything like laser treatment on my gums. It is now three years later. I've never needed anything more than getting my teeth cleaned. Another problem was that while I went to The Family Health Center Dental clinic they drilled and filled a lot of cavities and that has me suspicious. More so than anywhere else. When they told me I needed all that laser stuff I was upset and now knowing I'm fine without it has me worried they are still trying to talk others into treatment that may not be necessary. I have the dental records to back myself up if needed. I just want people to know what happened to me.
Between the medical Assitants and the L.V.N.,, they don't know what the he'll they are doing! And when you schedule an appointment. Make sure you take your lunch and dinner!(they don't respect your appt) they always give you the same words, Sorry were running late.
Terrible dentists. I had a wisdom tooth pulled and the dr had terrible bedside manners. He was rude and I kept saying owww I feel that and he just kept yanking my tooth out. I was in so much pain and in tears. Then the only pain meds he would give me was ibuprofen. Even the next day when I called crying because it still hurt so bad. I ended up going to the ER at grossmont in la mesa and they gave me some pain meds. Even they couldn't believe the dentist wouldn't prescribe any with my level of pain. NEVER AGAIN. I'd seriously rather go to Mexico if this crappy place is all I can get with my Medi-cal. Worst dentist ever. I'd give zero stars if I could
Horrible! My son had his appointment at 10:30. We arrived around 10:10 because I knew there would be papers to fill out since it was our first time going there. It was 10:42 when I went to the front desk and I told her my son's appointment was 12 minutes ago she was super sweet so I was not rude to her but I kept seeing people coming in and getting called into the rooms in less than 5 minutes so I was getting irritated. Even the lady next to me got fed up that she actually went to reschedule. It was around 11:10 when we finally got called in. Another 15 minutes of the lady, who called us in, walking back and forth with nothing in her hands every time she passed, she then asked me questions and asked me to fill out more forms. The dentist finally comes to check on him and he was done in less than five minutes and ends up telling me that they DO NOT FILL IN CAVITIES! All he did was count my son's teeth check for cavities and apply fluoride on his teeth. I was so angry that I wasted my whole morning being in a clinic for over an hour for a 5 minute check up...What in the world was the point if I was going to be sent somewhere else to have another dentist finish a JOB ANY DENTIST SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO! I am very angry I do not recommend this dental clinic to anyone.
