Sign in to reviewTheir infamous jam was indeed delicious. I personally would love to not have that much jam on my toast because it got sooo sweet but overall it was very yummy. The bread itself was soft and cruchy, shokupan style imo. The sandwich I had was yummy. The bread was a little hard to cut but it wasnt the biggest deal. Seats can be difficult to grab depending on the time you’re there. When we were there, people do leave and change out relatively quickly. But the line can also add up quite fast. I’m not the biggest fan of their seatings and atmosphere. Its just honestly to be seated and eat on the street of LA wasnt the most appealing way to try have a good meal. Their little gated corner is cute but it would take some luck to be able to grab a seat there. Street parking was a lil hard to find and having to jay walk across the road to get there wasnt really ideal. Tbh the location leaves a big room for improvement but I believe they will be fine. It’s always so popular here and I’m happy to be able to try the infamous jam. I enjoyed it!
This place certainly got its peak peak hype at one particular point in time that looking at the line alone felt overwhelming. Fortunately it’s way more decent now even on weekend brunch time. It’s obviously still busy, but amidst the chilly May grey Sunday, standing in line was certainly bearable. We placed our order than could quickly grab a seat at the front side, which was technically by the curbside, enabling you to do people-watching and just enjoying Silver Lake vibes. Amidst the wait you certainly had the option to explore their store which did offer some house-made ingredients they used for their dishes. We got their top dishes, starting with the sweet one - Toast Brioche with Ricotta and house seasonal jam. They had 4 options and you could also go for all, but my pick was the Raspberry Vanilla which I loved being so thick and I could tell had heavy fruit ratio in it. The moist airy ricotta came as right balance. The toast itself was very moist at the center but tad dry at the corner. The pesto rice to my surprise was so palatable and and refreshing with citrusy flavor and everything’s on the plate just came as right complement, the poached egg, feta, and the additional sides we added - halloumi and bacon. That bacon was MUST MUST TRY!
Tried the biggie bowl, ricotta toast, and chocolate chip cookie - all delicious! Bowl was super filling and full of flavor - took half home. Ricotta toast was loaded with ricotta and loved the different flavors of seasonal jams. And can’t go wrong with the cookie - the sea salt balanced out the sweetness. Inside there is limited seating. I was there early on a Saturday and didn’t have a line, but I’d imagine there could be a wait if you go later in the morning. Food also came out quickly - again, may have been since I was there before the rush.
Love the rice Porridge! The best ever! And the 24H French toast was incredibly delicious 😋 Salmon toast is full of Salmon. Yum! Chicken porridge was a little salty for me. All the little sauces are great! I was so worried to eat porridge and thought too much. It really amazed me and I am so happy with the delivery. Staffs are so helpful and attentive to let me know by calling and left a message and also wrote on the post card to remind me that one item was out. Love it!
May 2026: Finally made our way to Sqirls dinner service. Each dish was so nicely balanced with citrus and savoriness. Must get the Steak with Frites. The sausage-stuffed squid was outstanding! We appreciate the Mothers Day surprise… Apricot Jam for the Mums! We recommend!
