Studio 480 The Salon is a hair salon in Mesa, Arizona, at 6655 E McDowell Rd Ste 105, Mesa, AZ 85215. It may suit people looking for a haircut, a consultation about a new style, or color services such as highlights. Customer reviews describe experiences with cuts, bangs, layers, full highlights, and pink highlights, though available services and results can depend on the consultation and appointment. The salon has a 4.8-star rating from 245 reviews, giving local clients a useful snapshot of customer feedback while leaving room to read individual experiences and decide what matters most to them.

For haircut appointments, reviewers mention consultations about details such as wispy bangs and layers, with stylists checking in about the desired length during the service. One customer appreciated that their stylist remembered their preferences and was open to a quick return for a bang trim when the fringe felt too long. Another praised a thorough discussion before a haircut. These comments suggest that communicating clearly about shape, length, and styling goals can help set expectations. If you are considering a significant change, bring reference photos and discuss the plan with your stylist before the cut begins.

Reviews also mention hair washing and color appointments, including highlights and a request for pink highlights. Color services can involve important details, so it is sensible to clarify the desired result, appointment timing, and pricing in advance. One reviewer described concerns about a color consultation and a missing color test, while another raised questions about the final bill after a long appointment. These accounts are individual experiences, not a guarantee of what will happen at every visit, but they underline the value of confirming service details and any color-testing steps before proceeding.

Customers have described the salon as clean and staff as friendly, and some mention accommodating, attentive stylists. The feedback is not uniformly positive, so prospective clients may want to review recent comments and discuss expectations directly when booking. Studio 480 The Salon is open Monday 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m.–7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; it is closed Sunday. Whether you are due for a straightforward trim or exploring bangs, layers, or highlights, arriving with a clear idea of your goals and questions can make the appointment more comfortable. For Mesa residents seeking a neighborhood hair salon, its address on E McDowell Road and range of reported haircut and color experiences offer a practical starting point for choosing a visit.

The salon is always clean and the staff is friendly. Tara is great and lets me come back for a quick bang trim if they are too long for my liking. She doesn't get to do anything very exciting with my hair but always gives me a great cut. She remembers how you like your hair. She is an amazing woman too!

In desperate need of a haircut, I randomly booked at this salon with Hailey. It can always be a little nerve wracking trusting someone new with your hair, but Hailey did a phenomenal job with my haircut! She did a thorough consultation with what I wanted which was wispy bangs and layers. I really emphasized I did not want a lot of length off, and she respected that. I can barely tell any was taken off from my ends which is exactly what I wanted, and I sometimes feel like that can be hard to find in a stylist. She took her time with my haircut and was not rushed in the slightest which was nice because I knew she was doing a good job. She’s was friendly, kind and I enjoyed talking with her throughout my appointment. She’s really gave me exactly what I was looking for, and I left her chair feeling confident and beautiful. Even a little more than a week later, I still love my hair and am grateful I randomly booked her! I also appreciated she wasn’t pushy about selling product and she wasn’t judgemental when I told her that I use box dye for my hair. The pricing was also incredibly fair. I’m only staying in the area briefly, but if I was here longer, I would make her my regular hair girl!!

Love Allison! Shes so sweet, very accommodating and was consulting with me throughout the appointment to make she didn’t cut my layers too short. Appointment included: short consultation, hair wash, haircut (where she was very professional, …

I was looking for a new salon and found Studio 480 in my Church Bulletin at "All Saints" with a 20% off coupon. I arrived for my appointment at 11:45am and finally left at 4:45pm. I had booked a full highlight with additional pink highlights. My bill seemed kinda high with the coupon, so I called today to get more details and told I was charged for toner but told it actually wasn't a charge for toner - it was a charge for a 2nd bleach. Then I was told I could have been charged a higher fee (indicating she gave me the best price) or since I was in her chair for 5 hours, and she charges $60 per hour she could've charged me charged $300. If that is your price then charge that price. Don't tell me this after the fact to look like you were giving me a "discount of some sort". I've never spent more than 3 hours at a salon for this type of work. I certainly didn't expect to be there 5 hours. I'm happy with my hair, but hate lack of good customer service. The people were friendly and the salon was nice. Anyhow an unfortunate first experience. I won't be back.

This salon has now lied about our experience to save their reputation. Their manager implied since she never quoted me a price that I couldn’t afford the treatment, which is extremely disrespectful. The initial stylist NEVER did a color test even though the booking was specifically for a color consultation and should know if that were required. The “obscenity” was saying this was unprofessional and unqualified behavior to expect clients to drive hours repeatedly for a service that should have occurred during the already planned consult. And when you can visually see 4 hours of color to book online available same day, it’s crazy to expect to be told you cannot book those times. This entire salon has fabricated 80% of their reply. If we could rate zero we would! Highly unprofessional, stylists are unqualified to perform services promised and scheduled, no communication or notes from consultation were saved and failure to complete basic steps as part of color prep. Poorly managed as everything was excuses from "my receptionist failed" "our stylist didn't take notes" "the stylists never test stripped" - NOT the professionals they claim to be!
