Sign in to reviewAfter dinner, I was craving crawfish and luckily Sucre Cafe is close to my house. Their crawfish was fresh, big, and really tasty—definitely hit the spot! The staff was also very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I have a crawfish craving!
Staff greeted us and welcomed. Walking in were clean and organize. Few tables had customer sitting. Noise level was low. We bought the 3 pounds of crawfish. It was on the low side maybe 2.5-2.8lb I think this is their first time serving crawfish boil. The butter garlic was good 4/5. I got the spiciest one which was mid. Presentation and cleanliness 3/5 Crab legs sauce was really good. Crabs were good too. 5/5 Fries mid. 3/5 Overall great experience. The price was great. I would recommend trying.
I decided to try Sucre Plano Boba after seeing so many mixed reviews, and overall I had a pretty decent experience. The first thing I noticed walking in was the live crawfish sacks at the entrance, which caught me a bit off guard. It would probably be better if they were kept cooler, but it didn’t impact the food too much. I went in expecting overly salty or dirty crawfish based on what I’d heard, but I was pleasantly surprised. The flavor leans heavily on a crab liquid boil, and the “medium” spice level had a bit more heat than expected in a good way. At the time of my visit, pricing was $7.95 per pound for the Louisiana boil, which is cheaper than most places and felt like a great value. That said, the crawfish could be cleaner and would benefit from more soaking time. On the positive side, we didn’t get many dead ones, which is always a concern with crawfish. I also tried the garlic butter, which was flavorful, though slightly sweeter than I personally prefer. It’s about a 30 minute drive for me, so I wouldn’t come here often, but if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth trying, especially with their Thursday special buy 5 pounds get 1 free.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. The place was basically empty, yet somehow service was bad (we got one water cup for two people??). The oysters were fine, but the crawfish was SO hard to digest… tiny, mushy, pretty sure it wasn’t fresh, and so many straight tails. One was literally black inside. We barely ate half of it before tossing it & leaving. Deadass this place made me scared to go to other seafood places because of the quality. Pros: food came out fast, cleanliness+, quiet, provided us BOTH gloves, and easy to clean up after yourself
I don’t understand why this place is a hype. The restaurant was empty. This place was gross. The crawfish was all squishy textured and every time I opened one it would just fall apart. There was a lot of dead crawfish in our bag. We threw it out we couldn’t take it after eating less than 1lb. Never again am I going here!
