Exceptional Care and Attention to Detail My first appointment with PA Flanagan at Sunset Clinic was an excellent experience. He took the time to thoroughly review my medical history, listen carefully to my concerns, and address every detail without making me feel rushed. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to patient care were evident throughout the visit. It's refreshing to encounter a medical professional who takes the time to understand the patient rather than simply move through an appointment. I sincerely appreciate the quality of care I received and highly recommend PA Flanagan.

I came to this clinic because my PCP is now working for them. I will follow my PCP wherever he goes, and I recommend him highly. Jermaine Flanagan, PA, is wonderful. He was my primary reason for coming here; the second reason is that it is very close to where I live. The facility is clean, and the MA who assisted me was very cordial and professional. However, once you leave the clinic, everything turns into a nightmare. Telehealth is a nightmare—nobody answers the phones; you leave a thousand messages, and no one calls you back. You are left completely adrift! This place is terrible when it comes to patient care. My lab results were delivered to me by a different medical provider via video call—I waited a full hour past my scheduled appointment time just to speak with them. She treated me "well," but it has been nearly a month now, and I am still waiting for her to send my levothyroxine prescription to the pharmacy—and nothing has happened yet!!!! 😡😡😡 I’ve been calling ever since, and no one answers; by the time I get off work, they’re already closed... I’m still without my medication!!! And they don’t care!! What horrible customer service! I wish my PCP worked somewhere else—somewhere as professional as he is. And I’m sure they won’t even read these reviews. They know these are the worst reviews ever. And even if the medical providers themselves are good, the clinic still tarnishes their reputation. 😪

It’s going to take someone to self harm themselves and have the family to sue them for this doctors office to take them seriously. The staff at all locations thinks it’s funny not to return calls. It’s a shame to have good doctors and terrible support staff. Failure by a doctor’s office or medical staff to return patient calls in a timely manner is not just poor customer service it can carry serious legal and ethical consequences, especially when it interferes with access to prescribed medication. Medical practices have a duty of care to their patients. That duty does not stop at the exam room. It extends to follow-up care, prescription management, and reasonable responsiveness to patient communications. When staff fail to return calls, process refill requests, or relay urgent messages, they risk breaching that duty. Delayed or missed prescription refills can have severe outcomes, particularly for patients who rely on medications for mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, or other psychiatric diagnoses. Abrupt interruption of these medications can lead to withdrawal symptoms, emotional instability, panic attacks, insomnia, impaired judgment, or worsening depression and in extreme cases, self-harm, hospitalization, or suicidal ideation. From a legal standpoint, repeated failures to respond or act may expose a medical practice to: • Medical malpractice claims, if harm results from negligence or lack of reasonable follow-up • Professional discipline, including complaints to medical boards • Civil liability, if it can be shown that delayed care directly caused injury or mental health deterioration Importantly, courts and licensing boards recognize that mental health harm is real harm. Emotional distress, psychological injury, and loss of stability are not “lesser” outcomes simply because they are not physical. Healthcare providers are expected to have systems in place to: • Track and respond to patient communications • Handle prescription refills promptly • Escalate urgent medication issues appropriately When those systems fail and patients suffer as a result the consequences can be life-altering. Ultimately, timely communication is not optional in healthcare. It is a critical component of patient safety, continuity of care, and legal responsibility. Ignoring patient calls, especially when medication is involved, puts patients at risk and places medical practices on dangerously thin legal ground. I have let my family know to send this to the news if and sue if anything happened to me. No matter how much we fight for universal healthcare it doesn’t matter with staff like this who doesn’t value mental health or human decency!
