I used TK Import Auto Repair for more than 20 years and had three different vehicles serviced there over the years. Back then, the service was always fast, affordable, and easy to work with. I recommended many friends and family members because the prices were fair and the work was usually done quickly. Unfortunately, my recent experience was completely different. I recently called to get a quote for replacing the suspension on a 2013 Acura MDX for a friend, and the conversation was extremely confusing and uncomfortable. The owner sounded disoriented, was difficult to communicate with, and became oddly hostile during the call. After a few minutes, he accused us of “playing jokes” on him and abruptly hung up. Honestly, I was shocked because this is not the experience I had known from years ago. Something clearly seems different now. Maybe personal issues are affecting the business, I really don’t know, but based on my recent interaction, I can no longer recommend this shop. If you are looking for auto repair or suspension work in San Diego, especially around El Cajon Blvd, I would strongly suggest looking at other mechanics or auto shops instead. It’s disappointing to say because this used to be a place I trusted for many years, but I think those days are gone.

Do NOT bring your car here. The man is unprofessional, incredibly inappropriate and vulgar, and a drunk. When I realized that I needed to get my car and myself out of the situation, he all but refused to give me my keys back. Could not recommend less, especially for women.

They took great care of my car here, both times I've gone. Once I had an oil leak, they quickly determined it was just an oil pan missing some screws. Replaced the screws, topped off the oil, and refilled my windshield wiper fluid just to be nice. Only charged me for parts! A second time I went to have my brakes replaced, I went in late on Friday and the car was ready Saturday afternoon. Again, a low price to replace all four, especially compared to the dealer cost. They were kind enough to touch base with me during the process and show me the brakes before replacing them so I could see how thin they were. Honest, hard working, great service. Both men working wore masks as well per current guidelines. Will be going back!

Theodore is amazing! hes taken car of all 5 of my cars over the years, foreign and domestic, two volvo's, a jaguar, my 1964 galaxie 500, and my mini van! Honest, and checks with you before hand to make sure you are ok with the price hes asking, and always shows you the parts afterward. He has worked on all my family cars for over 25 years before he moved to this location.

Ted is great! Super knowledgeable, knew exactly what my Tacoma needed just based on our initial phone conversation. Dropped it off to have the oil pan and axel seals replaced, he finished it within a day for about 2,000$ less than what the other guys quoted me. I'll be telling my friends about this place for sure!
