The Tender Rose team came to our aid in a time of great crisis. We needed immediate care for our dad and Jen and Claudia were able to provide incredible caregivers from day one. Nannettee’s calm presence, deep experience and kind heart helped our whole family as we adjusted to a new reality. She stayed with us through transitioning my dad to a Memory Care facility and guided us all through the bumpy first months. When it was time to add to the team, she helped to identify who should join our team and worked with them to share all her knowledge of my dad and his needs. She is like family and we will be forever grateful. She brought Brent in as our other primary caregiver and he has developed an amazing relationship with our dad. Brent is always engaged and in tune with dad’s mood and needs and it has been incredible to see his responsiveness as my dad’s disease has progressed. He is thoughtful, caring and funny and we could not ask for more. This has been an incredibly difficult year for our family and the Tender Rose team has done everything in their power to help, support and guide us through it.

I worked with Tender Rose for several years providing dementia and hospice care. While the company offers consistent hours and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with clients, my overall experience was challenging. I was assigned to the same client for over two years and repeatedly requested a transfer due to emotional and mental strain. Despite communicating these concerns over an extended period, I was not offered alternative placements or support. This led to burnout and ultimately contributed to my decision to leave. Additionally, there was a lack of transparency and consistency in compensation. I was responsible for training new caregivers, some of whom were hired at higher rates than I was receiving after years of service. When I attempted to address this, I did not feel supported or heard. Management communication could be improved, particularly when it comes to advocating for caregivers and addressing workplace concerns. Caregiving is demanding work, and having responsive and supportive leadership is essential for both staff well-being and quality patient care. Overall, this role strengthened my clinical and caregiving skills, but I would encourage the company to improve how they support, compensate, and retain experienced caregivers.

It is a very good agency for dementia care. Not only for clients but also for its employees. I have been working with the agency for over 5 years.
