Thanh Q. Nguyen, MD is a pediatrician serving families throughout Fountain Valley, California and the greater Orange County area. Located at 10900 Warner Ave STE 118, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, Dr. Nguyen has built a practice grounded in thorough, attentive care for children of all ages. With over two decades of experience in the community, he has become a familiar and trusted name among local Vietnamese-American families seeking quality pediatric care close to home.

What distinguishes Dr. Nguyen is his meticulous approach to patient care. Parents consistently highlight his ability to catch details that others might overlook, including early detection of conditions that required prompt treatment. His thoroughness during examinations gives families confidence that their children are receiving careful, comprehensive attention. For many parents, this level of diligence is exactly what they look for in a pediatrician — someone who treats every visit with the seriousness it deserves.

Long-term relationships are a hallmark of Dr. Nguyen's practice. Several families have entrusted their children's health to him for nearly a decade or more, with some parents noting that all of their children have been his patients since they were toddlers. One family shared that their three boys have grown up under Dr. Nguyen's care, with the eldest now twenty years old. Beyond addressing physical health, Dr. Nguyen also takes an interest in the broader well-being of his young patients, offering guidance on academic pathways and life decisions that extend beyond the exam room.

As a solo practitioner, Dr. Nguyen is the sole physician at his Fountain Valley office. This means he personally oversees every aspect of his patients' care, which families value deeply. However, being a one-doctor practice can occasionally result in wait times, particularly for walk-in or same-day appointments. Parents who plan ahead with scheduled visits tend to have a smoother experience. Some reviewers have also noted concerns about front-desk interactions, so families may want to come prepared with patience and clear communication when visiting the office.

For parents in Fountain Valley and surrounding communities looking for a pediatrician who combines medical expertise with genuine compassion and cultural understanding, Thanh Q. Nguyen, MD offers a practice built on years of dedication to children's health. His Vietnamese background makes him especially attuned to the needs of Vietnamese-American families navigating healthcare in the United States. If you value a doctor who remembers your child by name and takes a holistic interest in their growth and development, Dr. Nguyen's office on Warner Avenue is worth considering.

Dr. Nguyen is truly a compassionate and knowledgeable doctor. He does not overlook any detail and has helped me caught and treat a condition very early on. He is very meticulous and attentive when it comes to patient care. We have been with him for many years, and he remembers every time we visit. Along with medical care, he also gives good life advices. The office staffs are all very friendly and helpful. I don’t normally write reviews, but Dr. Nguyen and his staff deserve all the praises. Thank you for all the care!

Dr Thanh Nguyễn is the exceptional pediatrician who has been passionate about the health of our children. All my 3 boys have been going to him since the oldest was 3 and he is 20 years old now. Dr. Thành doesn’t just care about their health, he also gives them great advice on their studying pathways. He spends time with each individual patient passionately. You just have to be a little patient.

The service here is extremely terrible and unprofessional, the Vietnamese woman at the front desk is rude and unprofessional. We made the appointment a month ago for the RSV, and she confirm our appointment with us 3 days ago. Upon our arrival, she told us there’s no more RSV available, and acted like it’s not a big deal. What is the point of making and confirming appointments if you can’t even be ready, she couldn’t care less about the patients.

The receptionists, staff, nurses, whatever they are, cannot run the doctor's office. They are unprofessional, especially one asian girl, who doesn't work there anymore. She doesn't know anything. I don't know what she is saying. The way the staff speaks to the parents is rude and it shows they lack people skills or just don't like parents. They can't even be polite. The office makes parents wait more than 1 hour and could care less. Then once you're in the examination room, you wait again for a long time. When the doctor comes in, it only took him 10-15 minutes, and he seems in a hurry. Just be aware, Dr. Thanh Nguyen may seem nice but does he make good diagnoses. My son had a lot of ear infections and breathes through his mouth. I don't get how Dr. Nguyen misdiagnose this. His explanation is that my son's ear canal is still developing and still can trap fluids causing ear infection and just gives him antibiotic, which was prescribed at every visit that my son had ear infection. The breathing through the mouth was diagnosed as something to do with large tongue and that his body will catch up or having to do with allergy. I'm not sure, it's hard to understand what he's saying. Went to a specialist and found out that the fluids in my son's ears affected his hearing and the reason he breathes through his mouth is because his tonsils were so enlarged due to inflammation. These affected his quality of health and sleep because it was hard for him to breath. The fluid in his ears just needs to be drain and his enlarged tonsils removed. After this was taken care of, my son slept better, no more sick from infection, and happy. These are the reasons I stop going to Dr. Nguyen.

My children have been patients of Dr. Nguyen for 9 years now. Yes his office can be busy at times, and yes there can sometimes be a wait. Usually that only happens if you a walk in or call for a same day appointment. He is only one man, and at this office he's the only Dr. so it's common sense that there will be a wait. The wait is worth the treatment this man gives our children! As many faces he can see throughout the years he always remembers my kids and the things they have been through. From every illness to new starts in school and sports Dr. Nguyen gives you that great personal attention. He remembers everything we tell him and can still recall my older children who haven't seen him in 5 or more years. His personality is very honest and funny, he won't sugar coat things to make you happy but will indeed tell you truth. This is a Vietnamese Dr.'s office and his receptionist and some nurses are too Vietnamese, when searching for a pediatrician you can clearly read that he's Asian, and when you call his office you can clearly hear his receptionists are Asian, so if you have an issue with that or an issue with communicating with Vietnamese speaking nurses, receptionists and a Dr. then don't go here! The whole world doesn't cater to you! Don't be rude to my kids pediatrician or his staff! Go find someone else who will keep your mouth shut, and keep you from being rude to the people who care for our sick children! This Dr. is an amazing Dr. we love him and his staff and I would hope the fact that we've been patients with Dr. Nguyen for over 9 years now would show that. So people you choose your Dr. it's your decision to go to this office, do your research before taking your children somewhere. I can promise that there are really horrible physicians out there who treat you awful and have no care about you really, and you know what you can get in to see them in only minutes, barely a wait. LOL You have to ask yourself why is Dr. Nguyen's office so packed with family's? Why do so many parents choose to bring their children here? It's because it's truly a safe place with a knowledgeable Dr. who cares for our children. And not that it matters but I don't speak Vietnamese but I can understand everything that's ever been said to me! Thank you Dr. Nguyen and staff for being great at what you do. Cristy G
