Wedding jewelry is a recurring theme in feedback about The 14 Karats. Customers have shared appreciation for wedding bands and for a wedding ring originally made by the shop. Experiences can differ, so visitors who have specific questions about a repair, a resize, anticipated timing, or cost may benefit from setting those expectations clearly at the start. This straightforward approach helps ensure the service matches the importance of the piece being entrusted to the jeweler. The reviews are most helpful when read as individual accounts rather than a promise of identical service for every visit.

The owners, Jon and his wife, seem to have their favorite customers. Their attitude came across as snobbish, and they certainly know how to make customers feel unwelcome. Whether they are selectively friendly to certain customers or this is simply how they treat people in the Bay Area’s Asian community, the experience was disappointing. If you’re a person of color—particularly Black or Brown—you may not feel welcomed here. The level of customer service was extremely poor. Ironically, the person guarding the door, a Black employee, was by far the friendliest and most polite person in the establishment—much more courteous than the owners themselves. If I could, I would give 14 Karats zero stars. The only reason this review gets one star is because of the excellent door attendant.

These guys are the best. I bought my wedding ring there decades ago. I needed it cut from an injured finger and resized. They called to say it was ready. I asked how much it would be and Mr. Moriarty said, "I made this ring. There's no charge." As I said, they're the best. Bob

I brought 14 karats a beautiful silver ring with lapis lazuli inlay. They charged what I thought was a very high fee to resize it, but it was worth it because this was a very special ring that I had purchased in Mexico. I was informed that it would be ready within one week. When I tried to check on it, I got a somewhat rude rebuff from the jeweler. I was less than pleased with the customer service but I waited for an additional 2 weeks before I got a quizzical message that there had been some 'problem' with resizing the ring. The 'problem' was that they had cracked the stone in 2 places. Now my beautiful ring has 2 hairline cracks in the stone. So basically I paid a lot of money to get my ring cracked. I don't even think they fixed anything. Please don't let this man resize your ring unless you would like to share my experience.

the staff here are so unfriendly and tbh down right nasty.... i needed to have some jewelry resized and they were able to do the work, it's just unfortunate that the had to be so unpleasant especially when i was a paying customer.
